Hirst Shoves the River

Nivel 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Christopher Smith raised to 27,000 from under the gun, Zachary Hirst three-bet to 60,000 out of the hijack, and the action folded back to Smith, who called.

Both players checked on a flop of {2-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, and the turn was the {8-Diamonds}. Smith led out for 65,000, Hirst called, and the {3-Diamonds} completed the board.

Smith led out again - this time for 125,000 - and Hirst moved all in for around 300,000 total. Smith mulled the decision over for a bit, then folded.

MacPhee Loses Over 80% of His Chips To Hwang

Nivel 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Kevin MacPhee opened with a raise to 39,000, and Soon Hwang reraised all in for 704,000. MacPhee called with the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} to put over 80% of his chips on the line against Hwang, who had the {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

The flop was huge for Hwang when the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} fell to give him trips. The turn was the {9-Clubs} to give MacPhee a flush draw, but the {A-Spades} on the river didn't do it.

Hwang doubled and MacPhee was left with 150,000 in chips.

More For Assuncao

Nivel 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The board showed {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades} when Chris Odle bet 173,000 into an already very big pot. Luis Assuncao did not waste much time before going all in and Odle folded.

Assuncao chipped up some more while Odle has lost almost half his stack since the start of the day.

What Does the Fox Say? ... Goodbye

Nivel 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Christopher Shaw opened for 26,000 from early position and received a call from Iaren Lightbourne in the small blind. Dustin Fox then three-bet all in for 217,000 from the big, Shaw called, and Lightbourne moved all in over the top for quite a bit more. Shaw folded and the cards were turned on their backs.

Lightbourne: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Fox: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Lightbourne had played his kings coyly, and it looked as if it was going to pay off in a big way. The {2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop kept him in the lead, but it did give Fox a wheel draw. It also elicited a reaction from Shaw, who claimed to have folded pocket deuces.

The {6-Spades} turn was no help to Fox, and neither was the {6-Clubs} river. Lightbourne took down the pot with kings and sixes, Fox exited in 258th place for $38,634, while Shaw wondered what could have been.

Top Top for Pahuja

Nivel 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Jean-Jacques Zeitoun opened with a raise in the hijack only to have Mukul Pahuja three-bet the button to 65,000. Zeitoun made the call before check-calling 56,000 on the {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop.

The turn landed the {9-Spades} and Zeitoun checked to Pahuja who tossed in a bet of 92,000 which Zeitoun called before he checked for a third time as the river landed the {Q-Spades}.

Pahuja reached into his stack and then bet out 134,000 which Zeitoun quickly called. Pahuja tabled his {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Zeitoun mucked while slipping to 161,000 as Pahuja climbed to 1.19 million in chips.

Kamran Sees the Boat

Nivel 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Michael Kamran check-called 74,000 from Hans Winzeler in a battle of late position players on an {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} board. On the {6-Spades} river, Winzeler thought for awhile after it was checked to him, then he pushed forward more than six towers of yellow T1,000 chips for a wager of 122,000. Kamran thought for awhile, pump faked the call briefly, then slammed a calling stack in. Winzeler showed {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a boat and Kamran flicked his cards forcefully into the muck.

Yunis Doubles

Nivel 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

On the {J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} board, Nick Yunis checked, and Jean-Jacques Zeitoun bet 150,000. Yunis called, and the river was the {6-Spades} to pair the board. After Yunis checked with 303,000 behind, Zeitoun moved all in and had him covered. Yunis tanked long and hard, before eventually making the call. Zeitoun showed the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for queen high, and Yunis showed the {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for two pair and the winning hand.
