Big Four-Way All-In Pot Results in Two Eliminations

Nivel 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Darlene Lee
Darlene Lee

A big four-way all-in hand just took place over at Table 377 that resulted in two eliminations.

The hand began when William Pappaconstantinou moved all in under the gun for 425,000 and Darelene Lee called off for 280,000 from middle position. Nicholas Nardello then flatted from the cutoff only to have Justin Swilling move all in over the top for 775,000 from the small blind. Nardello ended up making the call and a huge crowd gathered round to see what inspired such action.

Pappaconstantinou: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Lee: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Swilling: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Nardello: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Shouts for various cards began to emerge from the respective supporters on the rail. Nardello not only had everyone covered, he also had the best hand. That changed though when the {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop delivered Pappaconstantinou a set of fours.

The {8-Clubs} turn gave both Nardello and Lee an open-ended straight draw, while Swilling was still competing for the side pot with his overs. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {9-Spades}, which changed nothing. Pappaconstantinou took down the sizable main pot while Nardello took the side, though he still lost a little on the hand.

Lee and Swilling were eliminated in 113th and 112th place, both for $52,141.

Park Shoves On Ho

Nivel 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

From middle position, Robert Park raised to 75,000. In the small blind was Maria Ho, and play folded to her before she reraised to 235,000. Play moved back to Park for him to study the situation. He did so, then announced that he was all in. With around 1.15 million left in her stack, Ho tanked for about a minute before coming to the decision to let go of her hand. Park won the pot and chipped up over 2.6 million.

Shchemelev Silenced

Nivel 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Vladimir Shchemelev
Vladimir Shchemelev

Vladimir Shchemelev has just been eliminated from the Main Event.

We aren't sure of the action, but we believe Shchemelev was all in on the flop holding {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} against Michael Kamran's {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} on a {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{J-Hearts} flop.

The turn and river landed the {2-Hearts} and {6-Clubs}, and Shchemelev was sent to the rail while Kamran climbed to 2.4 million in chips.

Smith Eliminates Kalas to Reach 5.45 Million

Nivel 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Dan Smith
Dan Smith

We caught up with the board showing {9-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{A-Hearts} and Kane Kalas placed out a bet worth 395,000. Dan Smith moved all in for 1,670,000 effective, and Kalas thought it over for about a minute before announcing a call. He was already drawing dead.

Smith: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Kalas: {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The {9-Spades} on the river added insult to injury, giving Kalas nines full of queens to Smith's queens full of nines. Kalas exited the ESPN stage, and Smith began stacking a mountain of chips.

Newhouse Fires the Big Guns at Johnson Again

Nivel 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Mark Newhouse checked from the big blind and called a bet of 100,000 from Chris Johnson on the button after a {k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop. On the {9-Hearts} turn, Newhouse checked again and Johnson bet 250,000. Unlike their previous encounter, Newhouse didn't wait for the river, this time dropping a stack of 2 million in the middle on the turn to put Johnson at risk. Johnson clenched his jaw and shook his head slightly but let his hand go after a minute.

David Tuthill
David Tuthill

We arrived in time to find David Tuthill all in and at risk before the flop against Manig Loeser. Tuthill was all in for his last 560,000 and in a dominating position heading to the community cards.

Tuthill: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Loeser: {A-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, ensuring Tuthill would score the double. Tuthill, who was down as low as 35,000 after the dinner break, now sits at 1.27 million in chips. Loeser, on the other hand, has dropped to 500,000.

Play folded to Bruno Politano on the button, and he raised to 65,000. In the small blind was Jason Weber, and he reraised to 140,000. After Steven Bennett folded from the big blind, Politano called.

The flop was {K-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}, and Weber led for 155,000. Politano folded, and Weber won the pot.

Below are the end-of-hand chip counts for Weber, Politano, and the rest of the table.

Eveslage Doubles Through Fair

Nivel 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Kane Kalas joined the ESPN feature table moments ago and immediately sparked some action. Kalas opened to 80,000 from middle position and Ryan Fair three-bet to 190,00 from the cutoff. Chad Eveslage moved all in for 420,000 from the small blind, prompting a fold out of Kalas, but Fair called off the remaining 230,000 and the cards were tabled.

Eveslage: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Fair: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts} changed nothing and Eveslage shipped the double to 990,000.

Nivel 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Mikiyo Aoki opened to 75,000 from under the gun and Eddy Sabat three-bet shoved for 425,000. From the big blind, Felix Stephensen made the call as Aoki folded.

Stephensen: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Sabat: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} to see Sabat double through to just under 1 million in chips while Stephensen slips to 490,000.

Hirst Busts Lisawad

Nivel 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Pakinai Lisawad
Pakinai Lisawad

From middle position, Zachary Hirst raised to 60,000. Michael Aron called from the next seat, Pakinai Lisawad called in the hijack seat, and then Kane Kalas closed the preflop action with a call from the big blind.

That led the four players to a {J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop, and Kalas checked. Hirst bet 160,000, and Aron folded. Lisawad raised all in for around 390,000, and Kalas got out of the way. Hirst quickly called and rolled over the {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a big combo draw. Lisawad had flopped the goods with the {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, but would have to dodge some outs if he was to stay alive.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} to deliver the final blow to Lisawad straight away. The river completed the board with the {K-Hearts}, and it was Hirst's flush that busted Lisawad from the tournament.

"Good playing, man," said Steven Bennett to Lisawad after he was eliminated.

"It wasn't that good," responded Lisawad.

"Hey, you got it in good. What else can you do?" said Bennett.

"Play better," finished Lisawad before heading off to collect his payout.
