Hockey Sticks

Nivel 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Christopher Greaves raised to 200,000 in early position, Luis Assuncao called near the button, and both players checked on a flop of {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. The turn was the {6-Spades}, Greaves check-called a bet of 225,000, and the river was the {j-Clubs}.

Both players checked, and Greaves won the pot with {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} for a wired pair of sevens.

Andrey Zaichenko made it 200,000 from the button and Mark Newhouse called from the big blind. The two saw a {4-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop and Newhouse checked. Zaichenko did the same and the {10-Clubs} fell on the turn. Two more checks allowed the {4-Diamonds} to finish the community cards. Newhouse bet 225,000 and Zaichenko tossed out a call.

Newhouse tabled {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, eliciting a muck from Zaichenko. Newhouse took down the pot and now has 8.345 million.

Shahen Martirosian - 38th place

Bryan Devonshire opened to 175,000 from under the gun only to have Luis Velador three-bet to 450,000 from the hijack. With the action on Shahen Martirosian in the small blind, he moved all in for 2,050,000 to force Devonshire's cards into the muck. Velador however made the call, and the cards were placed on their backs.

Martirosian: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Velador: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

With Martirosian in bad shape against Velador's overpair, the {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop changed little as the {9-Clubs} and {6-Clubs} completed the board to send Martirosian to the rail in 38th place for a $186,388 payday.

Sean Dempsey open-shoved all in for 980,000 from middle position, and Christopher Greaves re-shoved in the cutoff. The rest of the action folded through.

Dempsey: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Greaves: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The {7-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop didn't change much, but the {a-Diamonds} spiked onto the felt on the turn to give Dempsey a pair of aces. He improved to aces up when the {q-Diamonds} completed the board, and doubled to 2.16 million.

Greaves dropped down to 2.775 million.

Greer check-raised to 390,000 and Park made the call before both players checked the {Q-Clubs} on the turn.

The river landed the {5-Diamonds} and Greer led out with a bet of 405,000 which put Park into the tank for over four minutes before he called.

Greer tabled his {A-Spades}{8-Hearts} for two pair to scoop the pot and climb to 3.3 million, as Park dropped to 3.6 million in chips.

Scott Palmer raised to 180,000 out of the cutoff, Andoni Larrabe three-bet to 460,000 out of the small blind, and Palmer responded with a four-bet to 880,000.

Not to be outdone, Larrabe slid out a fifth bet, but before we could count it Palmer's hand hit the muck.

With a little swagger, the Spaniard tossed his cards forward, dragging in the pot.
