Chufty Doubles Up

Richard Ashby has just found himself a much needed double up.

Andy Frankenberger raised to 350 in first position and Scott Lipshutz three-bet in the next seat making it 900 to play. Richard Ashby was seated in the cut-off and he called as did Frankenberger.

Flop: {K-Spades} {8-Clubs} {2-Hearts}

Frankenberger checked and Lipshutz bet 2,500. This bet left Lipshutz with around 800 behind. Richard Ashby had around 3,600 and he decided to move all-in. Frankenberger folded and Lipshutz made the call.

Showdown

Opposite Ends of The Spectrum

Shannon Shorr
Shannon Shorr

Shannon Shorr is sharing table space with Johnny Chan but they are both having mixed fortunes. Shorr is at the tail end of the chip counts while Chan is at the top. Here they are getting involved in a hand together.

Chan made it 150 to play from the cut-off and both blinds called. The flop was {7-Spades} {5-Spades} {2-Diamonds} and Shorr bet 400 from the small blind, the big blind called and Chan folded. The turn was the {5-Hearts} and a 925 Shorr bet took the pot down.

Running Good

"Wow, I'm running good!" is what Sam Stein just sarcastically said after doubling up Matt Stout. Stout raised to 600 from the button and after the small blind called Stein decided to pot from the big blind. Stout called all-in and the big blind folded.

Matt Stout{A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Sam Stein{A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

"You're ahead," Stein said with a laugh and after the {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop came out Stout replied with, "Now I'm really ahead". When the turn, the {6-Diamonds}, came out Stein added, "Am I really gonna lose this one?". The river was the {3-Hearts} and Stout doubled up. "I'm running good!" Stein said looking down at his small 2,500 stack.

Roberto Romanello

"We have all taken a poll and we believe that guy is the best player at our table," a player tells us when we arrive at the table.

"How does he do it?" Asks Jon Spinks.

"He is also the nicest person at the table," says the same person.

We are not sure how he does it or whether or not he is the best player at the table, but we do know he probably is one of the nicest.

He also has a lot of chips!

It Is Like Billirakis Never Left

Steve Billirakis is starting today like he left off yesterday - winning pots!

We joined the action on a flop of {J-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} with three players involved in the pot and they all checked. The turn card was the {K-Hearts} and after the small blind checked, Richard "Chufty" Ashby bet 750 and it all heads swung around to Steve Billirakis on the button who made it 3,300. The small blind folded and Ashby had a decision to make for his final 4,600 chips. In the end he decided to fold and Billirakis took the pot.

"Did you have trip Kings?" Asked Chufty.

"In that hand? No," replied Billirakis.

"Straight?"

"Maybe in the end I would have had a straight?"

Lacay Needs Glasses

Ludovic Lacay
Ludovic Lacay

Ludovic Lacay started off very good and got up to 15,000 chips quickly but he just lost almost half of his stack. Lacay told us he thought his hand was {9-}{9-}{8-}{2-} and on a {10-}{9-}{X-} that looked pretty good. Lacay got his opponent to put his chips in the middle with {10-}{J-}{7-}{8-} and a flush draw and he was looking to flip. Than Lacay turned over {9-}{8-}{8-}{2-} and was in very bad shape. No luck for the Frenchman who is down to 8,000 chips.

Eoghan O'Dea and Dario Alioto are also at his table and doing much better with very sizable stacks.

Martins Adeniya Joins The Cast

We may be losing players quicker than Long John Silver loses his legs but we are also getting some late arrivals. One such player is Martins Adeniya and he just picked up a little pot before everyone was moved out of Majestic #2 room.

Adeniya raised to 225 on the button and both blinds called. The flop was {10-Spades} {8-Spades} {4-Hearts} and Adeniya c-bet 225 and just the small blind hung around for the turn. The turn was the {J-Spades} and the small blind led for 500 but Adeniya pumped it up to 1,200 and the small blind snap-folded.

Matan Krakow
Matan Krakow

Matan Krakow started the final table of the €2,500 6-Max event as chip leader but didn't manage to live up to his goal of winning. He ended up in fourth place cashing €65,068 but today he's back and ready to go!

On a {Q-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop his opponent bet out 575 and Krakow decided to raise to 1,150. "Do you show if I fold," his opponent asked but Krakow remained silent. After a while he folded showing {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} and Krakow mucked his cards raking in a pot.
