There are few feelings better in poker than finding oneself on the bubble with a big stack, ready to put pressure on anyone who is trying to secure themselves a minimum cash.
Today, on Day 2 of Event #10: €2,000 8-Game Mix of the 2024 World Series of Poker Europe, Anson Tsang and Sami Bechahed will return to King's Resort with exactly that feeling.
They sit on top of the leaderboard with only 18 players returning for the final day of the event, and with 14 spots being paid, the money will be on many a short-stack's mind. Three-time bracelet winner Tsang, who bagged 674,500 last night and received the title of chipleader with a stack of 34 big bets, and Bechahed, also sitting comfortably with a stack of 609,500 in the hunt for his first bracelet, were the only players who ended up with more than half a million in chips.
Seated on different tables, they will be looking to take advantage of the bubble opportunities and increase their monstrous stacks even more. Meanwhile, the likes of Polish duo Tomasz Gluszko (323,000) and Dzmitry Urbanovich (170,000), two-time bracelet winner Ilija Savevski (281,000), and recent €5,000 PLO bracelet winner Dennis Weiss (210,000) find themselves in the top ten with middling stacks and will have to proceed carefully.

Aside from the WSOP jewelry, the €156,510 prize pool saw a prize of €43,400 being put on top, nothing to scoff at, and another motivator for the players.
