Yogo Just Ahead at ANZPT Perth Final Table

Nivel 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Iori Yogo
Iori Yogo

After a frantic day at the tables of Crown Perth in Western Australia, the latest final table on Season 5 of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour has been set. In the end it was Iori Yogo who bagged up the most chips and will now start the ANZPT Perth final table with the chip lead.

Beginning at 12.30 p.m. local time everyone involved was gearing up for a long day. After all, there were 33 players remaining and we needed to first burst through the money bubble and into the 24 money-paying positions before making our way to the final table. However, to say it was a quick day is an understatement.

Within 90 minutes we had lost eight players and we were on the bubble. Inevitably one player would be going home with no money for their time and that unlucky player was John Dichiera. With that we were in the money and marching toward the final table.

One-by-one players went home with some bittersweet cash in their pockets. Some of those to finish in the money, but fall short of the final table, include Ivan Zalac (24th), John Lane (21st), Fabian Craib (20th), Milan Gurung (19th), Ricky Kroesen (17th), Robert Forward (16th) and Peter Woodworth (15th).

With 14 players remaining we were sure the action had to slow down eventually. How wrong we were. The next hour or so of play would see five players eliminated and just like that our final table of nine was set just four and a half levels after the day started.

As alluded to earlier it is Iori Yogo who is the chip leader of the final table. It won’t be an easy ride to victory for Yogo though, with players like [Removed:480] and Dale Marsland hot on his heels. Some others like Luke Brabin, David Evans, David Fragomeni and James Broom may be the final table short stacks, but they have proven to be formidable opponents over the last few days and are certainly still in with a chance. Check out the ANZPT Perth final table draw below.

Hunter Home in 10th, Final Table Set

Nivel 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

And just like that, our final table is set! It's been carnage the last half an hour, and we didn't have to wait long for the final table bubble to break as Kent Hunter has fallen narrowly short of the final day of play.

Hunter was short-stacked and all in preflop with {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. He was up against [Removed:480]'s {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and would need some help.

Hunter paired the {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{a-Spades} flop, but on the monotone flop, Divkovic held the only spade. The {7-Diamonds} turn changed nothing and the {j-Spades} river gave Divkovic the winning flush.

Hunter is out in 10th place as Divkovic will be close to the chip lead once the official final table chip counts come in. Stay tuned for the final nine lineup and a wrap of the day's action!

Sha Out, Final Table Bubble is Here

Nivel 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

The elimination of Siyu Sha in 11th place means we are on the final table bubble. Sha's final hand saw him all-in preflop holding {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and looking good against the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Unfortunately it was simply not Sha's day though, with a {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} board meaning Sha would go home with $7,700 for his time.

The pace has been rapid as we are now just one elimination off making our ANZPT Perth final table!

Pawal Exits, Twelve Remain

Nivel 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

A short-stacked Pawel Zawadowicz has just experienced the pain of trying to take on Dale Marsland here in Perth as Zawadowicz's tournament has come crashing to an end.

Zawadowicz was short but he had {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and looked set for a double up when Marsland produced {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}. However Marsland has a rather good record here in Perth, and that looks like continuing after the board ran out {j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

Zawadowicz will have to be content with 12th place for $7,700 in prize money.

Manjot Unlucky Number Thirteen

Nivel 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Philip Gidley-King was under the gun when he opened it up to 18,000. Folded around to Manjot Singh, he called out of the big blind. Now it was the dealer's turn for some action as they flipped over a {3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} flop.

Singh checked here and Gidley-King led for 48,000. Singh immediately raised all in and Gidley-King called just as quickly.

"You have a set?" asked Singh as he tabled his flush draw ({q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}).

Gidley-King did have a set, turning over {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

The {4-Clubs} turn and {10-Spades} river weren't good for Sing and he was sent home in 13th place.

Feizpour Makes it Thirteen

Nivel 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Michael Feizpour has found the rail in 14th place, meaning we are now down to the lucky 13 remaining players.

Feizpour's final moments saw his short stack in the middle preflop holding {a-}{k-}, with Pawal Zawadowicz holding {a-}{4-}. Feizpour was looking good to double up, but a four and not a lot more, landed on the board and with that Feizpour was sent to the rail.
