Goncalves Doubles to Leave Fernandes on Fumes
Nivel 22
: Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
William Fernandes raised to 160,000 under the gun and Paulo Goncalves called in the big blind.
The flop came K♣5♣2♥ and Fernandes bet 125,000. Goncalves then raised to 300,000 and Fernandes called.
Goncalves checked the A♠ turn and Fernandes bet 505,000. Goncalves instantly moved all in for 1,910,000 and Fernandes took a minute before calling.
Goncalves showed 5♦2♦ for two pair, while Fernandes had A♦Q♠ for top pair. The 6♣ fell on the river and Goncalves held on to double up, leaving the start-of-day chip leader as an extreme short stack.
