"Benjamin N" bested a field of 128 entries last time around, but Diamond Poker Series has raised the stakes for this edition, providing a huge guarantee of €2,000,000 for the PLO Championship, double that of last time. Some 70 more entries are needed to reach that number, so the organization expects a big turnout.
As with every tournament this series, players seated at the kickoff at 5 p.m. local time will receive 10 percent extra chips on top of their starting stack of 200,000. Meanwhile, those who enter in the first level get five percent more, incentivizing early action.
Day 1 will play levels of 45 minutes, while the levels will increase to 60 minutes on Day 2 and Day 3. Day 1 starts with blinds of 500/1,000 with a 1,000 big blind ante. The late registration will remain open throughout the day, not closing until the third level of Day 2, and unlimited reentries are available for the unlucky ones. The day will end after Level 9: 4,000/8,000 with an 8,000 big blind ante, expected to be around 1 a.m. local time.

Youness Barakat fired 8,000 into a pot of 22,000 on a turn of 6♣Q♣10♣K♦. Ioannis Kontonatsios called to the 3♥ river, where Barakat sized up to 40,000.
Kontonatsios neared the end of his shot clock before he decided to fold and grant the pot to yesterday's fourh-place finisher.

Christos Argyriadis under the gun and Leonid Yanovski in the cutoff had each put in 64,500 preflop when Argyriadis shoved on the 10♥3♣9♥ flop.
Yanovski looked agonized before he sighed and put in the call for his stack of 152,500.
Leonid Yanovski: K♣Q♣10♦8♦
Christos Argyriadis: A♦A♣K♥4♠
Yanovski had a lot of outs against the aces of Argyriadids, but the 4♦ turn was not one of them. The J♣ river was, however, as he made a straight to win the pot of over 400 big blinds.
Thanks to some early pots, Argyriadis was left with about a third of a starting stack after the hand.

Daniel Tordjman checked from the cutoff to "Phil Ejri" on the button, who came second in this event last time. "Phil Ejri" then placed a bet of 25,000 into the pot of 43,000 on a turn of K♥3♦4♦2♣, which Tordjman called.
When the A♦ river hit the table, Tordjman led out for 40,000. "Phil Ejri" looked him up, but mucked his cards when Tordjman tabled K♣Q♦7♣6♦ for the second-nut flush.
