O'Brien Outkicks One

Nivel 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

We found Dan O'Brien putting an opponent at risk for about 25,000 after a {4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Spades} flop. O'Brien held {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts} in the cutoff for top pair with a better kicker than his small blind opponent, who had {9-}{8-}. The {2-Clubs}{7-Hearts} run out was clean for O'Brien.

Faraz Jaka Eliminated By Ami Alibay

Nivel 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Faraz Jaka
Faraz Jaka

Ami Alibay raised from early position, Faraz Jaka called in the hijack and the flop came down {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

Alibay continued, Jaka called and the {J-Clubs} turn was checked by both players. The {J-Diamonds} river completed the board and Alibay bet effectively 23,000-ish. Jaka went into the tank for about two and a half minutes before he called all in.

Alibay tabled {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades} for queens full of jacks, Jaka mucked and Alibay collected the pot.

After Jaka left, tablemate Isaac Haxton commented that all-in hands must be shown and the dealer turned over Jaka's hand, which was {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}.

Weifels Wobble But They Don't Fall Down

Nivel 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Patrick Weifels raised to 1,800 from early position and it folded to Dani Stern on the button. He cut out a three-bet to 5,500 and action folded back to Weifels. He called to see a flop.

The dealer fanned {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and both players checked to see the {8-Clubs} fall on fourth street. Weifels fired 8,500, Stern folded, and Weifels boosted his stack to 112,000.

Bianco Lays Down Aces

Nivel 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

We got to the table with 35,000 in the pot and the board reading {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Alexander Isenberg moved all in for slightly more than 25,000 total, which was enough to put his opponent Salvatore Bianco all-in.

Isenberg sat in his chair calmly, looking through his sunglasses, his head resting on his right hand. Bianco was not as calm. He shuffled a few chips nervously in one hand, and then looked at his cards. He rubbed the cards back and forth on the felt and sighed before tossing his hand face up on the table. He had folded {A-}{A-}. Bianco said nothing as he slid his cards to the dealer.

Kurganov Trending Upward

Nivel 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

We arrived to find Patrick Weifels and Igor Kurganov looking down at a completed board of {J-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Kurganov was all in for his last 15,500 and Weifels pushed out a call.

Weifels showed {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} but it was no good against Kurganov's {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a better two pair. With this win, Kurganov increased his stack to about 55,000.

On the next next, Kurganov opened to 1,800 from early position and found a call from Tom Hall in the hijack. The flop came down {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Kurganov opted to check. Hall took this chance to fire 2,200 and Kurganov stayed the course. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and both players checked to see a river.

The dealer completed the board with the {2-Clubs} and Kurganov cut out a final bet of 8,000. Hall let his hand go and Kurganov was awarded the pot. He now has about 61,000 in chips.

Lew-sing Chips

Nivel 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Samuel Phillips raised to 1,800 from the button and PokerStars Team Online Pro Randy Lew called from the big blind. The flop came down {10-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Lew checked to the raiser. Phillips continued for 2,100 and Lew quickly called to see fourth street.

The board paired on the turn with the {6-Clubs} and Lew checked again. This time, Phillips opted to check it back, allowing the {A-Diamonds} to finish the board. Lew checked, Phillips bet 5,000, and Lew went into the tank. Ultimately, he flung out a call and mucked his cards after Phillips showed {A-Hearts}{4-Spades} for a rivered pair of aces. With this hit, Lew is down to just around 6,500 in chips.

Grippo Doubles Through Selbst

Nivel 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Vanessa Selbst is low on chips.
Vanessa Selbst is low on chips.

Nick Grippo four-bet all in for 33,500 from the cutoff over a three-bet to 5,600 from Vanessa Selbst, who was in the big blind.

"I thought you were going to do that with your whole range, and I still did this," Selbst mused. Perhaps sensing her impending demise, she added, "What time is the PLO tournament?"

After another minute or so, she tossed in a call for most of her stack.

Selbst: {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Grippo: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

"So bad at poker," Selbst muttered as the board ran out {6-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, keeping ace-queen high as the winner.

Vebjorn Monstad opened to 1,700 from under the gun, Justin Zaki called on the button and Stephen Chidwick tanked for a bit in the blig blind before he reraised to effectively 25,000.

River Scares Them All

Nivel 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

We got to the table with a pot of approximately 25,000 already in the middle and the board showing {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Thiago Rachadel checked first to act as did Jason Bigelow. Carlos Chadha was last to act and bet 10,300. Both his opponents made the call.

The river was the {K-Spades} putting four spades on the board and all three players checked. Rachadel showed {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for a nine high straight. Bigelow mucked and Chadha turned over {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a ten high straight, which was good enough to take down the pot.
