Kovalevskiy Flushes Kissel Out
Nivel 15
: Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Christophe Kissel opened to 9,000 from the hijack and found one caller in Serafim Kovalevskiy in the big blind.
Kovalevskiy checked to Kissel, who bet 16,000 on the 9♦Q♦9♠ flop. Kovalevskiy thought a while before check-raising to 40,000, which was met with an immediate all in from Kissel for a bit over 100,000. Kovalevskiy called to put Kissel at risk and hands were revealed.
Christophe Kissel: Q♣10♣
Serfim Kovalevskiy: J♦10♦
Kissel was technically ahead with his queen, but would need to fade a load of outs against Kovalevskiy's open-ended straight draw and flush draw.
The 4♦ turn filled Kovalevskiy's flush and the 3♥ river bricked out for Kissel — eliminating him from contention.
