Wolfgang Poker Having Another Crack at the EPT Main Event
Back in May, YouTube sensation Alex "Wolfgang Poker" Seibt journeyed to the EPT for the first time, taking a shot in the EPT Monte Carlo Main Event. The decision paid off as Seibt put in a deep run, bowing out in a very respectable 18th place for €35,100 ($37,536).
He's decided to have another pop at EPT Main Event glory, being one of the dozens of Day 2 entrants here in Barcelona. Seibt nursed a short stack for some time before being able to add enough chips to get out of shove or fold territory, and he was looking to rake in some more pots in hopes of emulating his performance from a few months ago.
Yanis Avanesyan opened to 4,500, and Seibt defended his big blind.
Seibt check-called for 4,000 on the Q♦5♠3♣ flop before the 4♠ turn checked through to the 3♦ river. Seibt led out for 15,500, which appeared to frustrate Avanesyan. The latter ended up making the call anyway.
Seibt tabled A♣2♣ for a wheel, and Avanesyan began muttering under his breath as he mucked his cards.
Seibt could only shrug his shoulders as he took in a chip stack boosting pot.
