Aguirre Cracks Markov's Set

Action was on the flop on a board of 8♣10♦J♣ and it was checked to Anton Markov, who bet 3,500. Francesco Macri called in the small blind, then Hector Miguel Henkel Aguirre check-raised to to 15,000.

Markov moved all in for 44,900, Macri folded, and Aguirre pushed his chips in the middle to make the call. Markov had J♠J♦ for a set of jacks and Aguirre had A♠9♥ for ace high with an open-ended straight draw.

The turn came the Q♥, which completed Aguirre's straight. The river was the 5♠ and Aguirre held to win the pot, cracking Markov's set and sending him to the rail.

Georgios Skarparis raised to 2,500 from the cutoff and found one caller in Ruslan Esov in the big blind.

Both players checked on the 7♣Q♦3♠ flop and then Esov called a 3,300 bet from Skarparis on the 10♥ turn.

The 3♥ completed the board and Skarparis sized up for a 7,600 bet. This time Esov thought better of it and let his hand go — awarding the pot to Skarparis.

Victoria Livschitz set the tone with a raise to 2,400, but Artur Dzemidau, sitting in the hijack, responded with a bold three-bet to 7,000. Livschitz made the call, eager to see the flop.

When the flop came down J♠3♣A♠, Livschitz checked, and Dzemidau seized the moment to bet 4,000. Livschitz then sprang into action with a hefty raise to 16,000, prompting Dzemidau to call.

The 2♦ on the turn saw Livschitz check again, but Dzemidau kept up the pressure with a bet of 11,000. After checking her cards, Livschitz went all in for about 45,000, and Dzemidau didn’t hesitate to call.

As they turned their cards over, Livschitz revealed 2♠2♣ for a set of deuces, while Dzemidau showed J♥J♣ for a flopped set of jacks. The 8♥ on the river didn’t change anything, and Livschitz was sent to the rail.
