Day 2 of the 2024 PokerStars North American Poker Tour $5,300 Main Event kicks off at 12 p.m. today. A total of 841 hopefuls made their way to Resorts World Las Vegas for the first three starting flights, with just 287 advancing to Day 2.
However, registration remains open through to the start of Day 2, so those who were unable to find a bag still have an opportunity to try their luck. The prize pool for this event has already smashed the guarantee, with over $4,000,000 already collected.
Leading the way into Day 2 is Bin Weng. He build a big stack early in Day 1a and kept his momentum throughout the day on his way to a bag of 359,000. In second place is Michael Lavenburg with 307,500. Rounding out the podium in third place is Ryan Hughes with 304,500.

Play resumes at 12 p.m. today at the Resorts World Convention Center. Levels increase to 90 minutes in length for Day 2. The action will start in Level 11 with blinds at 1,000/1,500/1,500.

Colton Blomberg three-bet to 8,500 in the small blind and Gal Yifrach, who entered at the start of the day, called in the cutoff.
The flop came Q♠6♣J♦ and Blomberg bet 5,500. Yifrach then raised to 15,000, Blomberg moved all in, and Yifrach called for 20,000.

Yifrach picked up a straight draw on the 9♥ turn, but he missed the 3♦ river and was sent to the rail early on Day 2.

Yang Lu opened to 3,000 from the button and Justin Saliba three-bet shoved for 30,000 from the small blind. Kenneth Einiger called from the big blind with a covering stack to put Saliba at risk and Lu got out of the way.

Aaron Massey raised to 3,000 in the cutoff and Yang Lu called in the small blind. Justin Saliba then three-bet to 16,000 in the big blind and Massey moved all in. Lu got out of the way, but Saliba called for 63,000.

Saliba was far ahead with his aces as the K♦5♣3♠ flop gave Massey some hope with a pair. The 2♥ turn was safe for Saliba, while the 5♠ river secured his double up and left Massey nursing an extreme short stack.

In a blind on blind confrontation, Jeremiah Williams checked on the turn to John Macdonald with the board reading J♦9♣6♦A♦. Macdonald fired for 9,000 and Williams weighed his options before he elected to call.
Williams checked once again on the Q♦ river. Macdonald cut out a bet of 18,000 and Williams took around 30 seconds before he flicked in the call. Macdonald tabled 10♦8♣ for the second nut flush as he dragged an early pot.
