The last two starting flights of the 2024 Pokerstars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) $5,300 Main Event take place today here at Resort’s World Las Vegas. Day 1b, which started at 11 a.m., is already underway while the turbo Day 1c flight begins at 6 p.m. local time.
Yesterday’s Day 1a starting flight attracted 276 entrants, with 73 players finding a bag by the night's end. All players from Day 1b and Day 1c will be trying to replicate the success of Bin Weng, who bagged the chip lead on Day 1a after finishing with 359,000, a stack worth over 200 big blinds going into Day 2.
Other notables who advanced from Day 1a include Jeremy Ausmus, Dan Sepiol, Patrick Leonard, Brian Altman, Farah Galfond, David "ODB" Baker, Matthew Salsberg and Griffin Benger.

Players will begin with 30,000 chips and the blinds will start at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. The turbo flight will play ten 30-minute levels after which the remaining players will bag their chips and advance to Day 2. Just like the previous two starting flights, one re-entry is permitted for Day 1c.
The tournament has attracted 630 entrants so far at the time of writing, already surpassing the $3,000,000 guarantee. That number will continue to climb with late registration available until the start of Day 2.

John Devereaux limped in from the button and both David White and Barry Woods checked their option from the small and big blind respectively.
The flop came J♦10♣2♦ and White bet 300. Woods got out of the way while Devereaux made the call.
White bet another 300 on the 8♦ turn. Devereaux raised to 1,000 and took the pot after White opted to muck.

Cherish Andrews opened to 300 from under the gun and Andrew Moreno defended from the big blind.
The flop came 5♣5♦2♠. Moreno checked and Andrews bet 200. Moreno check-raised to 900 and Andrews made the call.
Moreno bet 2,200 on the 7♥ turn and Andrews called again. On the 3♣ river Moreno sized down with a bet of 1,500 and this time Andrews opted to fold.

With two players seeing a board of 10♠Q♦4♥ and around 1,000 in the middle, Nawaung Maran bet 400 from the cutoff and Carol Harmon called from the button.
Maran checked on the 2♦ turn and Harmon bet 1,500. Maran put in a check-raise to 4,500 and Harmon made the call.
On the 3♠ river Maran bet 6,000 and once again Harmon called. Maran showed top pair, top kicker with A♣Q♥ which was enough to take the pot.

Abo Taheri opened to 600 from the cutoff and received calls from Glenn Slater on the button and Neel Murthy in the big blind.

On the K♥ turn Murthy led out with a 7,500 bet. Both opponents opted to fold and Murthy took the pot without showdown.
