Sabat Advances

Nivel 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

With the board reading {8-}{7-}{5-} Eddy Sabat lead out for 550, his opponent raised to 1,050, Sabat upped it to 2,800, and his opponent went all in. Sabat made the call and their hands were tabled.

Sabat: {8-Spades}{3-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The turn brought the {10-Diamonds} and the river was the {3-Diamonds} giving Sabat an unneeded two pair and securing his win. He'll be back for round two tomorrow.

Richey Gets Richer

Nivel 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

The last time we saw Brett Richey's table, he was the short stack at his table. However, when we just walked by the table, his chips were being racked, meaning that he has outlasted everyone else at his table to win.

Info Regarding Dinner Break

Nivel 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

We just got a bit of info off Tournament Director Jack Effel's twitter page.

After a player tweeted to Effel saying that having a 90 minute dinner break in a shootout tourney seemed unnecessary, Effel replied saying that players can opt to play through the dinner break if they wish and that their table will be put on a timer.

The dinner break is scheduled to start in about an hour and 15 minutes and we're guessing some of these heads up matches may want to skip it and try to finish playing instead.

Allen Cunningham, Roberto Romanello and Laurence Houghton are all among those players now playing heads up for a spot in the second round.

Even More Winners

Nivel 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

David Peters, Brandon Wong, Devon Shalmi, Eddy Sabat and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier have all won their tables. Shalmi came over and told us his winning hand. Shalmi held {k-}{j-} on a board of {k-}{9-}{4-}{q-} and got it in against his opponent who had {k-}{10-}. No miracle ten hit the river as it came a {3-} and Shalmi advanced to the next round.

Heads Up Updates

Nivel 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Eric Baldwin, Joe Tehan, and Humberto Brenes are all about even in their respective heads up matchups. Filippo Candio has once again taken a big lead in his heads up match with Nick Schulman, and David Pham also has a big lead in his matchup. Matthew Parvis, who started heads up about a 3-to-1 chip leader, is now down about 2-to-1 in his match.
