Akenhead Fighting Back

Nivel 4 : 200/400, 0 ante

James Akenhead raised from under the gun, and was called by a player in the big blind. The flop came down {6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, and Akenhead's opponent check-called a bet. The turn was the {j-Diamonds}, and Akenhead's opponent checked again. Akenhead bet, his opponent check-raised, and Akenhead called.

The river was the {k-Hearts}, Akenhead's opponent led, and the Englishman called. Akenhead opened {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a pair of kings, his opponent mucked, and Akenhead is now at 6,800 in chips.

Laak Bets Sternberg Off

Nivel 4 : 200/400, 0 ante

After two limpers, including Phil Laak from middle position, Justin Sternberg completed from the small blind and the big blind checked his option.

The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and the first two players checked before the first limper bet. Laak called as did Sternberg. The player in the big blind folded.

The turn was the {a-Spades} and this time it checked to Laak who bet. Sternberg was the only caller this time and the two players saw the {7-Clubs} hit the river. Sternberg checked to Laak who bet again and after some thought Sternberg let go of his hand.

Giang Looses Big Pot

Nivel 4 : 200/400, 0 ante

We caught Chau Giang in a hand with an opponent on the flop. The board read {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. His opponent checked from the big blind and Giang bet from the button. His opponent called.

The {9-Diamonds} fell on the turn. The player in big blind checked and Giang bet. His opponent raised, Giang reraised, and they capped the betting until the player in the big blind was all in.

Giang: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Opponent:{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

The board ran out with the {8-Hearts} on the river.

Giang is now down to 8,000 in chips.

Laak Gets Rockets

Nivel 4 : 200/400, 0 ante

Phil Laak raised from under the gun and the action folded to the button who called. The players in the blinds called, and the flop fell down {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. The action checked to Laak who continued, the player on the button raised, and the action folded back to Laak who called.

The turn was the {8-Clubs}, and Laak check-called a bet from his opponent. The river was the {7-Clubs}, both players checked, and Laak opened up two red aces. His opponent mucked, and Laak is now up to 13,500 chips.

Harman Goes Back-to-Back

Nivel 4 : 200/400, 0 ante

Jennifer Harman, on the button, called a raise from Chris Vitch before Jameson Painter made it three bets from the small blind. Bother players called and we saw the {2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop three ways. Painter led out and both players called.

The turn was the {4-Clubs} and Painter led out again. Only Harman called this time. The river was the {5-Hearts} and Painter checked to Harman who bet. When Painter called the whole table laughed when Harman showed {A-Clubs}{3-Spades} for a straight.

The very next hand Harman raised from the cutoff and found a caller in the big blind. The board ran out {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Harman bet the whole way. On the river, Harman showed {8-Spades}{7-Spades} which shipped the pot and added to her 16,000 stack.

Durrrr Enters, Durrrr Leaves

Tom "durrr" Dwan entered the tournament recently - and then exited.

In one hand, he raised from under the gun and was called by a player in the big blind. The flop came down {3-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and Dwan's opponent check-called a bet. Both players checked the {2-Clubs} on the turn, but after the {4-Spades} rivered, Dwan's opponent led for a bet. Dwan called, and mucked when he was shown {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of nines.

That hand left Dwan with just 1,900 in chips, and he soon was all in on a {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{j-Spades} board with {7-Hearts}{6-Spades} against an opponent's {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Dwan couldn't make his straight - or running cards for two pair or trips - and was eliminated from the tournament.

Nivel 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

A player raised preflop and Lex Veldhuis reraised. His opponent called. The flop ran out {7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. The betting was capped on the flop and the {8-Hearts} rolled off on the turn. Veldhuis smooth called after his opponent led out with a bet.

The {8-Diamonds} fell on the river and Veldhuis smooth called again after his opponent bed. Veldhuis flipped up {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and his opponent flipped up {5-}{5-}.

Veldhuis now sits with 8,300 in chips.
