To the Vitch go the Spoils

Nivel 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

Chris Vitch opened the button with a raise. Jennifer Harman, from the small blind, three-bet and Vitch made the call. The two players saw the {8-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop heads up and Harman continued with a bet. Vitch made the call and the turn was the {q-Diamonds}. Harman bet again and Vitch called.

The river was the {j-Clubs} and this time Harman slowed down. Vitch responded with a bet of his own and Harman called. Vitch tabled {q-Clubs}{10-Spades} and it was good enough to win the pot.

A player on the button raised Bill Chen's big blind and he just called. The flop came {2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Chen check-called his opponents bet. The turn was the {k-Hearts} and again Chen check-called. The river was the {2-Diamonds} and for a third time, Chen opted for a check-call.

The opponent on the button turned over {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} but Chen binked a pair on the turn with his {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

"You don't raise that?" his opponent asked. Chen just shrugged.

Akenhead's Ace-High is No Good

...against ace-high.

A player in middle position raised, another player on the button called, and James Akenhead put in a third bet from the small blind. Both of his opponents called. The flop fell {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, and Akenhead led out. Only the player on the button called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds}, and Akenhead led again. His opponent called. Both players checked the {j-Spades} on the river, and Akenhead's opponent opened {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Akenhead laughed, flashed {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for a worse ace-high, and mucked his hand.
