Nguyen Sends Another One Home

Nivel 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Thao Nguyen
Thao Nguyen

On a board of {Q-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}, Thao Nguyen checked to his opponent who fired out 7,000. Nguyen raised to 25,000 and his opponent announced that he was all in. Nguyen made the call and the hands were turned up.

Nguyen: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Opponent: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}

Nguyen was ahead with his pair of aces, and finished the hand a winner when the {J-Diamonds} hit the river, giving him two pair. This hand helped to skyrocket Nguyen to current tournament chip lead with 310,000.

Schoonover Getting Mowed Over

Matt Graham
Matt Graham

Matt Graham raised in early position to 7,000the table then folded around to Joshua Schoonover, who made the call. Both players checked on a {Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{K-Hearts} flop. It wasn't until the {J-Clubs} turn that someone put out a bet. That person was Schoonover placing 7,000 in chips in the middle waiting for a call. Graham obliged and put his very own 7,000 in to match.

When the {2-Spades} hit on the river again Schoonover put out a bet, this time 15,000. Graham was apprehensive, but eventually made the call.

Schoonover flipped over {A-Spades}{3-Spades} for ace high, and Graham countered with {Q-Spades}{9-Spades} for a pair of queens.

Nutini Knocked Out

Action folded around the table all the way to Aleksandr Mozhnyakov in the small blind. After some debate, Mozhnyakov announced all in, having Stacey Nutini in the big blind covered. Nutini instantly called, flipping up {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}. She was racing with Mozhnyakov's {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} .

The flop kept Mozhnyakov ahead, falling {6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. The turn fell {10-Diamonds}, leaving Nutini with six outs going to the river. Fifth street came the {Q-Hearts} and Nutini was sent to the rail.

Schoonover Runs Into Kings

Joshua Schoonover
Joshua Schoonover

From under the gun, Daniel Dasilva made it 7,000 to go and the action folded around to Joshua Schoonover in the big blind. Schoonover three-bet to 17,400 only to find Dasilva four-bet all in. Schoonover instantly called but was severely behind.

Dasilva: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Schoonover: {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

The flop gave hope to Schoonover when it came {J-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, but unfortunately for him, he bricked out when the turn and river came {7-Diamonds} and {3-Spades}. Schoonover, once second in chips in the tournament, has suffered a big hit here but still remains above average stack.

Thompson Topples Opponent

We don't know the exact action preflop, but we know Robert Thompson and the big blind were betting back and forth, and eventually the small blind with 120,000 moved all in and Thompson made the call.

Thompson: {a-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Big Blind: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

A board of {9-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} came out and Thompson was able to hit his queen and scoop a huge pot.

Sour Flowers

Benjamin Vinson
Benjamin Vinson

We don't know what the action was preflop, but on a {J-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} we found Benjamin Vinson in middle position putting out a bet of 7,500 only to be called by Randal Flowers on the button.

A {a-Hearts} on the turn brought a check from Visnon and a bet of 10,000 from flowers. Vinson made the call and both players got to see the {4-Hearts} on the river. Both players checked and Visnon showed {A-Clubs}{10-Spades} for two pair aces and 10s. Flowers mucked and Visnon is now passed 200,000 in chips
