Get Ready for a Massive Field Today in Event #28

Welcome back for another day of poker here at the 2011 World Series of Poker. Today we've got Event #28: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em kicking off at 12:00 PM PT and it's set to be another large one.

Last year, there were seven $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em events and the average field size across those was just over 2,500 runners. First place averaged over $600,000 in prize money and, of course, all the winners earned themselves a gold bracelet. Let's take a look at these events from the 2010 WSOP.

This year, there's only been one of these events already played at the WSOP; Event #18. The first of the bunch was conquered by Foster Hays just a few days ago after he defeated Casey Kelton heads up to claim the gold bracelet and $735,400 in prize money. In order to get all that glory, Hays defeated a field of 3,157 players. Our lovely Sarah Grant caught up with Hays after his win and here's what he had to say.

The field today is expected to be between 2,500 and 3,000 players, which would put first place up near the $700,000 mark. It's been an amazing WSOP so far this year and we expect much more of the same today from this event. Be sure to stay tuned to PokerNews all day and night for all the coverage you can handle. Also, be sure to check out the June 16th update from our stunning Aussie hostess Lynn Gilmartin.
