Busse with Aces

2010 World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner Shawn Busse raised to 425 from the hijack seat and the button three-bet to 1,175. Action folded back to Busse and he made the call to see the flop come down {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Both players checked.

The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and both players checked again. The river completed the board with the {8-Clubs} and Busse fired 1,600. His opponent made the call and Busse turned over the {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}. His opponent mucked and Busse won the pot to move to 25,000 in chips.

Tom Dwan (from Event #2)

A player opened to 400 from middle position, and the action folded to Tom "Durrrr" Dwan who defended his big blind. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, Dwan checked, and his opponent continued for 600. Durrrr studied him momentarily before calling. Both players checked after the {2-Hearts} turned, but when the {q-Hearts} paired the board on the river Dwan led out for 1,650. His opponent tank-mucked, and Dwan pulled in the pot.

Lee Chipping Up Nicely

Nivel 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Bernard Lee was kind enough to let us know how he's day been going so far in Event #4: $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em. He's up to 34,400 in chips with one big hand coming from a spade flush before the break.

A player raised to 325 and Lee reraised to 1,125 from the button. His opponent called and the flop came down {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Both players checked and the {9-Spades} fell on the turn. The first player bet 1,100 and Lee called.

The river completed the board with the {8-Spades} and action checked to Lee. He fired 2,850 and his opponent called. The player announced a queen for a straight, but Lee revealed the {A-Spades}{K-Spades} for a flush and won the pot.

Vedes Chipped Down with Ducks

With the board reading {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and roughly 2,000 in the pot, we found Tommy Vedes tossing out a bet of 1,675.

His opponent to his direct left deliberated for several moments before making the call as the {4-Diamonds} completed the board on the river.

Vedes opted for a 3,650-chip bet which his opponent swiftly called as Vedes looked upset and tabled just the {Q-Clubs}.

His opponent tabled his {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for bottom set to collect the pot as Vedes slips to 24,000 after peaking at over 30,00 already today.

Just a Lazy 800 Players

Nivel 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

As we mentioned in our original opening post, today was a true test on how Black Friday would affect the preliminary events of this year's WSOP.

With a few more players committing $5,000 to the prizepool, today's number now sits at 805 entrants; an increase from the 792 of last year.

Although Jason DeWitt pocketed a handy $818,959 in prizemoney, it is unlikely that this year's Event #4 winner will take home substantially more, but an $850,000 first prize is not out of the question as registration is still open for a further two hours!
