You Don't Know Jacques

Vincent Jacques looks to be our new chip leader with over 300,000 after he eliminated Jerome Bradpiece and won a decent side pot at the same time. There was an initial raise and Bradpiece had moved all in for about 35,000 behind. Jacques called from the big blind and the initial raiser called as well to see a {3-}{4-}{5-} flop where the OR bet 44,000, Jacques check-raised all in and his opponent tank-folded after some serious consideration.

Jacques flipped {A-}{A-} to Bradpiece's {A-}{Q-} and the board bricked out for the Englishman as the French-Canadian, who finished second to Praz Bansi in a $1,500 event last year, jumps into the chip lead.

Coincidentally, Bansi himself has just been knocked out.

Madsen, Jacobson Out

Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen

Both Jeff Madsen and Martin Jacobson were at the same table and knocked out in back to back hands.

In Jacobson's bustout hand, a player raised it up to 6,000 and Jacobson put it all in for 28,000 and got a call. Jacobson had {9-}{9-} vs. his opponent's {7-}{7-} The board was not kind to him however when it came down {7-Clubs}{k-Spades}{3-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Jacobson hit the rail.

In Madsen's hand, he raised to 4,200 preflop and got a call from the button.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Madsen bet 5,800. The button put him all in and he called showing {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} He was behind the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} of the button player. The turn and river were {9-Diamonds} and {4-Spades} and Madsen was done.

Increasing Natural Bui-yancy

Oanh Bui
Oanh Bui

Oanh Bui has doubled up to about 120,000 after she three-bet an opening raise to 12,000 from 5,000 only be shoved on by the original raiser who had her just covered.

Bui quickly called with {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and was up against {Q-}{Q-}, the board coming {3-Spades}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} to give her a big pot and move over the six-figure mark.

Lunkin Scoops Big Pot

Vitaly Lunkin
Vitaly Lunkin

We didn't quite catch how it happened, but Vitaly Lunkin's {10-}{10-} were up against an all in player at his table's {a-}{k-}

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{7-Hearts} The flop gave kings to the all in player, but the turn completed Lunkin's straight (amazingly, no one had a heart in their hand) and he took the extra 40,000 chips and moved them right into his stack. He is now sitting with about 130,000 which is more than double average at this point.

Williams in the Upper Echelons

Kevin Williams is up to 185,000 after winning a huge pot with top two pair. There had been a raise with two callers and Williams made the call in the small blind with {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and the big blind joined in with the fun.

The flop was {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-} and it was checked all the way around to the button who bet 8,000. Williams check-raised to 21,000 before the original raiser moved all in for about 75,000. The button then folded and Williams made the call with top two and found his opponent with {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. The {8-Clubs} came on the turn locking up the pot for the Englishman and the {J-} river was pretty much meaningless.

This pot puts Williams among the chip leaders.
