Smith Scoops a Nice Pot

Action began when a player raised to 5,500 from early position. Gavin Smith called from the button and the two saw a flop of {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}. Both players checked and the turn came {A-Clubs}. Smith's opponent checked and Smith bet 18,300. His opponent moved all in and Smith snap called, tabling {A-Spades}{6-Spades} for the nuts. His opponent flipped up {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}.

The river came {3-Clubs} and Smith was able to send a player home and pad his stack.

Mike Shane Eliminated

Nivel 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

On a flop that read {2-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, David Eldridge checked out of the small blind, as well as the big blind and Mike Shane in middle position before Eldridge bet 8,000 on the turn of the {8-Diamonds} after the small blind checked again.

Shane shipped his last 15,600 into the middle and the Eldridge called, showing {K-Spades}{10-Spades} but needed some help against Shane's {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

Bink! Down came the {9-Diamonds} on the river. Shane was none too pleased, as his colorful language would attest (which we are not prepared to repeat here). Eldridge is all smiles, now on more than 110,000.

Just Quads?

Nivel 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Hasmukh Khodiyara called another player's preflop all in and the two went to the showdown.

Khodiyara: {8-Hearts} {8-Clubs}
Unknown: {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs}

The board ran {2-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {3-Spades} {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds} and Khodiyara earned the knockout and smiled when his table asked, "What, just quads?"

Pickett Adds to His Stack

Nivel 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Mike Pickett recently sent a player packing when he called the all in of a short stack with {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. The short stacked player was holding {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and was in the lead before the flop. However, when the flop came ten-high and the short stacked player failed to improve, Pickett was able to scoop the pot and bring his stack up to 315,000.

Meyers Plugging Away

Nivel 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Brandon Meyers and another player each put 10,000 in the pot preflop. The flop rolled out {3-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {K-Spades} and both players checked. The turn produced the {Q-Spades} and Meyers check-called 12,000. The river came {8-Spades} and Meyers moved all in -- having his opponent well covered.

His opponent folded and Meyers is up to 270,000.

Philachack Pounding Opponents

Andy Philachack opened for 6,000 and his opponent in the small blind raised to 16,000. Philachack flatted and the flop came {7-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {4-Spades}. The small blind bet out 23,500 -- almost half his stack -- and Philachack moved all in. The small blind tanked, obviously conflicted with his decisions in front of him.

He eventually folded and Philachack decided to show his {7-Spades} {6-Spades} because his table was being broken at that moment. Philachack is flirting with 300,000.

Roudaut's on the Rise

Rory Campbell has just been eliminated at the hands of Yann Roudaut as play continues in WSOP Event #56.

On a flop of {4-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, Campbell checked out of the big blind, as did the player in the UTG +1 position before Roudaut opened for 14,000. Campbell shoved and the UTG +1 player got out of the way before the cards were tabled:

Roudaut: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Campbell: {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

Neither the turn of the {A-Clubs} or the river {5-Clubs} were of any help to Campbell and he was eliminated. Roudaut is now up to almost 150,000 in chips.
