Fricke Falls Short

We had heads up action between a middle position player and Jimmy Fricke on the button. The flop read {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and the middle position player bet out 1,200. Fricke justified it with himself and made the call.

The {3-Hearts} on the turn saw the middle position player slow down with a check. Fricke jumped on the opportunity and bet out 2,000 and the middle position player called.

The {8-Spades} then made an appearance on the river and the middle position player saw something he liked and bet out 3,000. Fricke took about 30 seconds to think about his course of action before ultimately putting in the call. The Fricke's opponent then exposed {Q-}{Q-} for two pair, queens and threes. This was seemingly good enough as Fricke deposited his cards in the muck.

Duhamel Stuck in Neutral

A player in early position raised to 425. Jonathan Duhamel called in middle position, and the dealer fanned {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. Duhamel called a 450-chip bet, and the turn brought the {3-Diamonds}.

Duhamel's opponent led for 950, and the Canadian called.

Both players knuckled when the {7-Clubs} completed the board, and Duhamel's opponent tabled {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for a pair of aces. Duhamel mucked, and is still stuck at around 20,000 chips.

Kenny Wong From Hong Kong

Readers may remember Kenneth Wong's name from the 2012 Aussie Millions, with Wong finishing in second place for a A$1,000,000 score. He is in the field today and will be looking to add another seven-figure score to his resume.

We recently caught up with the action on Wong's table with a {7-Spades}{a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts} board out on the felt and with 17,000 already in the pot, with Wong going up against one opponent. The player opted to check to Wong and Wong bet 15,100 - leaving himself with just 300 behind. His opponent tanked for a long time before letting his hand go, sending the nice pot to Wong.
