Lance Harris Eliminated in 10th Place ($19,398)

Nivel 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Lance Harris - 10th Place
Lance Harris - 10th Place

Lance Harris is headed to the cage to pick up 10th place money and the final table is set.

He shipped it in following a 45,000 open from Thayer Rasmussen. Rasmussen called with {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and Harris was racing for his tournament life with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

Rasmussen picked up two outs on the {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop, but the {8-Spades} turn kept Harris in the lead. Then finally, on the {j-Hearts} river, Harris was done in.

Play will resume at 3:15 p.m. PST as the players take the first break of the day.

Gruneberg Gets Paid

Nivel 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Bob Bounahra opened for 45,000 from late position and Zachary Gruneberg defended his big blind. Gruneberg then checked the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop and Bounahra did the same.

On the {4-Clubs} turn Gruneberg took the lead, putting out a 67,000 bet that Bounahra called. Then on the {8-Diamonds} river Gruneberg bet again, making it 140,000 to see his holdings. After a bit of time in the tank, Bounahara made the crying call only to be shown {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the flush.

D'Alesandro's Bullets Hold

Nivel 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Bob Bounahra opened for 45,000 under the gun, and Dave D'Alesandro shoved all in for 211,000 from the next spot. Dominik Nitsche asked how much Bounahra was playing, then called. The rest of the players quickly folded, and Bounahra mucked without too much delay as well.

Nitsche: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
D'Alesandro: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

The {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flop gave Nitsche a straight draw, and the {7-Hearts} added more outs with a flush draw. A small black card hit the river though — the {5-Spades} — and D'Alesandro leaned back in his seat in obvious relief.

Horan Doubles

Nivel 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

After some tight play 10-handed, Thayer Rasmussen started the action with a couple of 45,000-chip opening raises.

On the second one, Lance Harris pushed all in and found a short stacked Billy Horan willing to do the same with his last 104,000. Rasmussen stepped aside and it was {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} for Horan against Harris' {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}.

The board ran out {2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Horan and Harris are now about even in chips.

Erwann Pecheux shoved it all in following yet another 35,000 opening bet from Thayer Rasmussen.

He had {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} but Rasmussen called quickly with {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and it was all over for the Frenchman after the {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades}{k-Spades} board ran out.

With that the remaining players move to a single ten-handed table.

Eric Shanks Eliminated in 12th Place ($19,398)

Thayer Rasmussen opened for a raise under the gun, and Eric Shanks pushed all in from the next spot for about 275,000. Action folded to Rasmussen, who quickly called.

Rasmussen: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Shanks: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

The flop brought a pair: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, which prompted Shanks to ask for another ten to grab a chop. The {3-Hearts} and {8-Diamonds} turn and river didn't do it for him, though, and Rasmussen added more to his tournament-best stack.
