"Lucky Player"

Nivel 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

In what looked like a four-bet jam preflop, Joseph Cheong was all in with the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} against Greg Merson's {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. Merson called Cheong's shove preflop, but was behind and looking for help.

The flop gave Merson the lead with the {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a pair of aces. Cheong fell behind, but picked up a flush draw. The turn was the {J-Diamonds}, and then the river completed the board with the {8-Diamonds}. Cheong finished second best and was sent out the door as Merson moved to 117,000 in chips.

"Lucky player," said Merson, pointing to himself as he raked in the pot.

Marc-Andre Ladouceur led out for 5,000 on a board of {10-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades}, and his opponent Kyle Julius came along for the ride. The river was the man with the ax ({k-Diamonds}), Ladouceur led out for another 13,000, and Julius called.

Ladouceur showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for the nuts, and Julius mucked.
