"I Invented Omaha"

Nivel 13 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

Robert "Chip Burner" Turner has made the money here at Event #34, and he came up to us with an interesting quote.

"I invented Omaha, you know," he said.

According to Turner, he introduced the game of Omaha to the poker community in the 1980s, when it began to spread at the Golden Nugget as "Nugget Hold'em."

What we can say without a shadow of doubt is that Turner is an accomplished poker player, having recorded cashes of more than $2.3 million dating back to 1982 in a variety of games. He also has a World Series of Poker bracelet in this very event from 1993.

Rightmire Bubbles

Nivel 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

"I know I lasted as long as I could!" announced Robin Rightmire as he was all-in for his last 300 chips as an ante.

Since the hand-for-hand bubble period began, Rightmire has been folding down until this final hand, and when Sergey Rybachenko completed, Rightmire's fate would be decided on this one hand as both his and Rybachenko's board ran out as follows:

Rightmire: {5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} / {6-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} / {Q-Diamonds}
Rybachenko: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} / {A-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} / {9-Spades}

With Rightmire drawing dead once six street was dealt, he headed out the door in 41st place as the remaining 40 players were now guaranteed some money in their pockets.

On the Bubble

Nivel 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Following two quick eliminations, we are now on the bubble.

The next player out will unfortunately receive nothing while simultaneously guaranteeing the remaining 40 players a $2,524 payday.

Negreanu Keeping Hayes Alive

Nivel 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Daniel Negreanu got PT Hayes all in on fifth street, announcing that he was gambling.

Negreanu: {a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}/{3-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Hayes: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}/{2-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Hayes was in front with queens, and he widened his lead with {9-Hearts}, while Negreanu caught {2-Clubs} for a gutter.

"I'll let you know if there's a sweat," Negreanu said. He peeked down. "It's paint...so you win."

Can Kim Hua Halted

Nivel 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Can Kim Hua found himself all-in on third street against Marcel Luske and Filippos Stavrakis. Luske bet fourth with Stavrakis calling before both players checked fifth and Stavrakis bet sixth with Luske calling.

Hua: {X-}{X-} / {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs} / {X-}
Luske: {X-}{X-} / {8-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{K-Clubs} / {X-}
Stavrakis: {X-}{X-} / {Q-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{8-Hearts} / {X-}

On seventh, Stavrakis bet and Luske folded. Stavrakis tabled his {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a flush as Hua flashed his {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and headed to the rail.
