Nguyen and Newman Eliminated

Nivel 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Khiem Nguyen has just been eliminated while Stewart Newman was left crippled after a hand with Phil Laak.

Laak had flopped bottom two-pair, and Newman's full wrap and flush draw missed to see Laak scoop the monster pot as Nguyen headed to the rail.

The following hand Newman would commit his final 11,500 against Brandon Crawford and Phil Laak with the final board reading {6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}.

Newman missed with his {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} as Crawford tabled the best hand with {A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} against Laak's {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Nguyen Can't Win

Nivel 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Khiem Nguyen opened with a raise to 8,000 from the cutoff and Stewart Newman defended his big blind. The {a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{k-Spades} flop saw Newman check-call a bet of 10,000 and then he checked for a second time on the {4-Hearts} turn.

Nguyen slid out a bet of 23,000, leaving himself 45,000 back, and Newman paused for a beat before announcing that he was all in. Nguyen would have to call off the rest of his chips to see the river, but he decided against it and instead sent his cards to the muck.

All Hale, Brant!

Nivel 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Craig Hartman, who has been on the shorter side of things all evening, raised to 8,000 on the button and Brant Hale, who has the big stack and plenty of chips to spare, made the call from the big blind. Hale proceeded to lead out for 11,500 on the {5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop, Hartman called, and the {A-Clubs} appeared on the turn.

This time Hale checked, but he still called when Hartman bet a modest 11,000. When the {10-Spades} completed the board on the river, Hale put together some chips and bet 32,000. Hartman thought for about ten seconds and then released his hand.

Hale added to his already monster stack while Hartman would fall just a few hands later.

Garcia Gives It Up to Tabarelli

Nivel 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

With 26,000 in the pot and a board reading {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, Jose Garcia checked from the big blind and Michael Tabarelli bet 26,000 from the button. Garcia made the call and then checked the {3-Spades} turn. Tabarelli took the opportunity to bet 46,000 and Garcia thought for about a minute before releasing his cards.

Venovski Doubles Through Ashby

Nivel 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

On a flop of {9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, Richard Ashby bet out 15,500 only to have Alex Venovski raise all-in for his last 30,500. Ashby made the call and the cards were tabled.

Ashby: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Venovski: {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The turn and river landed the {5-Clubs} and {5-Diamonds} to ensure Venovski the double.

Watson Plays a Little

Nivel 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Jonathan Little opened for 9,000 from the cutoff and Mike Watson decided to defend from the big blind. Both players checked the {q-Spades}{8-Spades}{q-Hearts} flop, and then did the same on the {8-Diamonds} turn. When the {A-Hearts} completed the board on the river, action once again went check-check and Little tabled the {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for kings and queens. It was good too as Watson simply sent his cards to the muck.

Gorodinsky Stacks Julius

Nivel 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Kyle Julius
Kyle Julius

Mike Gorodinsky limped and Phil Galfond completed from the small blind before Kyle Julius checked his option.

The dealer spread a {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop with the blinds checking to Gorodinsky who bet out 8,000. Galfond called but Julius moved all in for 42,500 and Gorodinsky responded by iso-shoving to force Galfond out - who later stated he had clubs and {Q-}{J-}.

Julius: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Gorodinsky: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

The turn and river landed the {8-Diamonds} and {2-Spades} to see Julius eliminated and Gorodinsky's stack soar to nearly 250,000 in chips.
