A Little Fall from Grace for Kitai

Nivel 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

We noticed that the start-of-the-day chip leader, Davidi Kitai, was no longer in his seat. Not long ago he was sitting on a big stack, but it seemed those chips disappeared. We asked Jonathan Little what happened, and as it happened he was responsible for Kitai's demise.

As Little told it, Kitai was crippled after the two played a big hand. It began when Kitai raised on the button with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-}{2-} and Little defended from the big with {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-} with three hearts. The {8-}{3-}{5-} flop contained two hearts, and Little check-called a bet from Kitai.

Little then check-called another bet when he made a flush on the {10-Hearts} turn, and did the same on the {J-Spades} river. Kitai had been bluffing with the {A-Hearts}, and Little's flush was good to crippled the Belgian.

Not long after, Kitai got the remainder of his chips in holding {q-}{10-}{8-}{3-} and was behind the {a-}{k-}{j-}{4-} of little. The board failed to help Kitai and he was eliminated in 39th place for $10,409.

Rast Ravaged by Hale

Nivel 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Brian Rast
Brian Rast

Brian Rast put out a pot-sized bet of 12,000 on a {4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop only to have Brant Hale raise the pot. Rast thought for a few moments before sliding his stack of 150,000 or so forward, and Hale made a quick call.

Rast: {5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Hale: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Rast had pocket tens with an open-ended straight draw, which was behind the aces and wheel draw of Hale. The {Q-Clubs} turn failed to change anything, and neither did the {Q-Spades} that followed it on the river. Rast missed, wish the table luck, and then took his leave in 40th place for $10,409.

Tieman Straightened Out

Joshua Tieman
Joshua Tieman

WSOP gold bracelet winner Joshua Tieman has just been eliminated by Stewart Newman.

Tieman held top and bottom pair on the flop, but it would be Newman turning the nut straight that would send Tieman to the rail.

Leung Rivers Straight on Julius

Nivel 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

On a board of {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} with roughly 55,000 in the middle, Kyle Julius led out for 15,000 only to have Joseph Leung raise all-in for 73,000 total.

After several minutes in the tank, Julius made the call, but then mucked after Leung tabled his {Q-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for the nut straight.

Keiley and Feinberg Makes Their Way to the Payout Desk

Nivel 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Benjamin Keiley got his short stack all in preflop and was at risk against Jose Garcia.

"You have the aces?" Keiley asked. "This is the best hand I've seen in awhile."

Garcia: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Keiley: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Garcia did have the aces, but the {q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop gave Keiley some hope with a wrap. Unfortunately for him, neither the {7-Clubs} turn nor {5-Spades} river helped him and he was sent to the payout desk in 44th place.

Meanwhile, Sam Feinberg was eliminated over at Table 437 in 43rd place.

Kilpatrick Kills Mr. Bojang

Nivel 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

We didn't see when the chips went in, but we do know that Ismael Bojang was just sent to the rail by Kory Kilpatrick. The board read {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{a-Spades}{7-Clubs} and here's what the two had laid out in front of them:

Bojang: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}
Kilpatrick: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

Bojang ended with aces and sevens, but that wasn't enough to overcome the aces and queens of Kilpatrick.
