Merry Christmas

Nivel 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Is exactly what Soi Nguyen said a few minutes after an opponent five bet shoved jacks into him.

Nguyen had {a-}{a-} and it held to push him up among the leaders with over 400,000.

Grinders

Nivel 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

A few of these players are doing OK the rest, as one of them put it, are “Grinding.”

Sevens for Pollock

Nivel 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Josh Pollock opened to 6,500 from early position and only the big blind came along as the dealer spread a {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop. Both players checked as the {5-Diamonds} landed on the turn and the big blind bet out 4,000.

Pollock called as both players checked the {9-Spades} on the river.

The big blind tabled his {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, but it would be Pollock's {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} that would see him scoop the pot to move to roughly 265,000 in chips.

O'Brien Runs Good

Nivel 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Dan O'Brien managed to get one short stack all in and his {6-}{6-} was slightly ahead of that opponent's {a-}{j-}.

A jack on the flop changed all that, but all you Dan O'Brien fans need not worry. He hit a six on fifth street to make a set and bust the shorty.

Metaal Pays Off

Nivel 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Govert Metaal opened for 6,500 and got one caller in the small blind.

The flop was {9-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and they both checked. The turn card was the {10-Hearts} and Metaal faced a bet of 7,000. He made the call to go to the river which was the {3-Spades}. Another bet of 8,000 this time from the small blind and Metaal flicked out the calling chips. He couldn’t beat {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} though and lost the pot.

Trumper...Trumps?

Nivel 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Simon Trumper shipped his short stack in with {8-}{8-} and got looked up by an even shorter player with {a-}{j-}.

There was an ace on the flop, but an eight on the river and Trumper busted his opponent to move up and out of the danger zone.

Vengrin Doubles

Nivel 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Matt Vengrin decided {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} was a good hand to go with.

Lucky for him he got it in against a player with {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} and found the {3-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades} more than favorable.

Updated Chip Counts
