Adeniya's Ascent

Nivel 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Martins Adeniya keeps on rolling over in Pavilion. He just finished stacking up the chips from a previous pot won when a player in late position raised his blind to 5,000.

Adeniya flciked off a chip from his massive stack, making the call and they went heads up to the {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop. Adeniya checked and since opponent did as well, he pounced all over that sign of weakness, betting the {6-Diamonds} turn.

His opponent folded to what looked like 8,500.

Shawn Fakhimi

There is no doubt about it. Shawn Fakhimi is the monster chip leader of the Monster Stack.

Recently Fakhimi put a short stack at risk.

Fakhimi: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The board ran out {4-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Fakhimi scooped the pot to climb to over 500,000.

Carson Check-Raise

Nivel 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Gregg Carson seemed to be getting some poker tips from the young player to his left on how he could have got more value from a previous hand and Carson seemed to be listening intently. As luck would have it they would be in the blinds next hand.

There was a raise to 6,000 and Carson called in small blind and his neighbour called in the big.

The flop was {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Carson checked. The big blind bet 7,500 and when the original raiser folded Carson brought out the ol’ check-raise. His erstwhile teacher quickly mucked and Carson showed him the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

First World Problems

Nivel 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Olivier Desenailhac had just been moved to a new table in Pavilion when he called the floor.

He had a huge stack of chips in front of him, two bags full on his lap and was looking for a little help. The floor offered racks and the opportunity to color up a few of the smaller racks and just like that, the problem was solved.

The dilemma of how to handle Desenailhac and his big stack of chips now belongs to the players at his new home.

Desenailhac Surges Up the Leaderboard

Nivel 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Olivier Desenailhac has just been spotted in the Red section of the Brasilia room with an impressive 288,200-chip stack.

What is more impressive is that Desenailhac only began the day with 34,500, but has increased that by eight-fold to sit within reach of the chip leaders.

Hellman Takes a Beat

Nivel 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Erik Hellman had been building his stack slowly today but he just took a bit of a dent. A player opened for 4,700 and Hellmann three-bet him to 10,700. This was met, after a pause, with an all-in.

Hellman asked for a rough count, heard it was 48,000 and made the call. His opponent turned over {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Hellman showed {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

His opponent stood up to face his fate and the dealer put out {k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Hellman’s opponent gave out a cry of “Yes.” before apologising and explaining that he never celebrated and never got lucky.

Hellman quietly handed over the chips joking that he was going to pay him off in small chips.

Olivier's Slide

Nivel 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

It didn't cost him much to call one short stacks shove moments ago. Which is likely why Olivier Busquet did so with {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

The shorty had {a-Spades}{10-Spades} and held on the {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Clubs} board leaving Busquet on a bit of a downswing right now.
