Battle of the Blinds

Nivel 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Ty Reiman
Ty Reiman

Ty Reiman and Tom Middleton have been sitting next to each other for most of the day. They have been engaged in conversation and battles in the blinds for most of that time.

In a hand that just went down, Reiman in the small blind check-raised Middleton’s 8,000 bet to 24,000 on the turn of a board reading {7-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Middleton called. The river was the {4-Diamonds} and Reiman led out for 40,000. Middleton called and was shown {q-Spades}{4-Spades} for the flopped flush. Middleton flashed his cards to the victor with a smile, then mucked them.

Baumstein Suits a Double

Nivel 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Scott Baumstein shoved one of his first hands back from the break for just under 60,000. A player he had just covered called from the blinds with {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Baumstein turned over {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} with the turn and river delivering the flush and prompting his opponent to give a “bro, really?” as he waited to be escorted to the pay out desk.

Jewell's Calls Down Pecheux

Nivel 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Salvatore Bonavena opened to 8,500, Kurt Jewell three bet to 21,000, Erwann Pecheux four bet to 47,000, Bonavena folded and Jewell made the call.

The dealer delivered a flop of {3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Jewel check-called a bet of 33,000 from Pecheux. Both players checked down the next two streets as the board completed with the {2-Clubs} and {4-Diamonds}. Jewel tabled {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Pecheux mucked.

Boyd Feels It

Nivel 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

“This feels wrong to fold,” Dutch Boyd said to himself. His opponent had moved all in on the river of a board reading {4-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{j-Spades}{a-Diamonds}.

“I don’t know how to fold,” Boyd continued, and after a few more moments, he mucked his hand.

His opponent triumphantly turned over {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} to grunts from some other players, but Boyd barely reacted.
