Power Poker for Volpe

Nivel 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Paul Volpe
Paul Volpe

A player raised to 4,800 from early position and Paul Volpe three-bet to 11,000 from the button. His opponent called and the flop came {3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}. Volpe's opponent led for 18,000 and Volpe jammed all in which quickly induced a fold.

Italy on Top

Nivel 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The face definitely seemed familiar and it was indeed Sergio Castelluccio with heaps of chips. The last huge hand saw him open with pocket tens for 3,500 and receiving two callers in the button and big blind.

He flopped the full house on {10-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-} and an opponent managed to four-bet into him and then shove the blank turn with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. The Italian happily called and discovered the good news that he was already secured the huge pot.

Yet To Be Called

Nivel 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Jean Marie Vandeborne has been grinding a short stack for most of the day and clawed his way into the money. We saw him three-bet shoving at least two times and he told us that he was not called yet after being all in. If that continues, it is definitely a promising sign for the things to come.

Karlic Toasted

Nivel 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We missed the hand but noticed via social media that Gerald Karlic is no longer in the tournament. Apparently he lost a 200,000 pot with pocket kings versus pocket aces.

Hong Loses Some

Nivel 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Peter Hong still appears to be our chip leader even though he just lost 28,900 in chips. He raised to 3,500 and then tank-called the all in of a short stack with {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} only to see {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} for the opponent. The {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop made things clear and neither {6-Clubs} turn nor {5-Spades} river provided any miracle runner runner.

Another big stack is Andrea Emanuele, who isn't that far off in chips.
