McLaughlin Moving On Up

Nivel 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Robert McLaughlin opened for a raise and Jason Helder moved all in for 213,000 total. McLaughlin made the call and his {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} was well ahead of Helder and his {4-}{4-}. The board would run out dry and the queens would hold and Helder was eliminated while McLaughlin moved north of the 400,000 chip mark.

James Woods
James Woods

James Woods was among the short stacks coming back into Day 3 and he just lost with {A-}{K-} against the {A-}{Q-} of Robert Dreyfuss, as a queen showed up on the turn.

Hong Cannot Improve

Nivel 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Peter Hong got his stack in with {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and got called by Jose Carlos Garcia with a pair of eights. The {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-} flop provided an additional flush draw but none of the outs came to the rescue of Hong.

Just Quads For Chau

Nivel 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Gary Chau took {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} up against a short-stacked all in player holding {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. The flop was a monster for him as it came {Q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. The turn turned that monster into a gigantic T-Rex as it was the {Q-Hearts} to give him quads. Chau clapped his hands together in celebration as the dealer put out the meaningless {2-Diamonds}.

"What you didn't want a four out there for a sweat?" joked Tony Cousineau.

"No, no, not really," laughed Chau.

Cousineau Kissed By Setup

Nivel 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

It was the classic cooler that saw Matt Woodward head to the rail with pocket kings for 100,000 in chips. Tony Cousineau had the only starting hand that beat him in {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} and no king showed up on the board.

Double Me Up

Nivel 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

S Svedberg lost a lot of chips early on but just doubled up again for 38,500. He moved all in from early position and found a customer in the player in the big blind with {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}. Svedberg held {A-Spades}{10-Clubs} and stayed ahead as the board ran out {4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

Choe Loses Big Flip

Nivel 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Among the early eliminations we noticed Minho Choe after getting his stack in preflop with {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}. It was table neighbor Arpad Balazs who looked him up with {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Balazs won the flip on the {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} board.

Peng Starts Day Off Right

Nivel 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

With 125,000 already in the pot and a board of {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, Xiao Peng announced that she was all in and tossed a T25,000 chip and two T500 chips into the middle. Her opponent, Joseph Liberta, sat quietly, playing the hand through his head.

"How much do you have," he finally said after about a minute in the tank. Peng, stacked her chips neatly so Liberta could eye it and he responded "that's good."

A few more seconds of thought and Liberta let it go.
