No Day 2 For Cannatella

Nivel 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Trishelle Cannatella
Trishelle Cannatella

Trishelle Cannatella has been knocked out from the Main Event and Andrea Dato was kind enough to share her elimination hand with us.

Cannatella called a raise before the flop after which the big blind called as well. The flop brought out {A-}{Q-}{9-} with two clubs and the action was checked to the initial raiser who bet. Cannatella check-raise all in for about 6,500 and was called by {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

Cannatella tabled {Q-}{9-} for bottom two pair but the turn, a club, put her in dire need of making a full house. The river did no such thing and Cannatella was knocked out.

Two Quick Exits

Nivel 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Both Jean-Robert Bellande and Mustapha Kanit were peddling short stacks, and unfortunately both players have succumbed to the rail.

Chan Approaching 100K

Nivel 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Johnny Chan is rapidly approaching 100,000 chips, in fact one more pot should take him over that barrier and into the six-figure club.

Matthew Ashton's stack is almost exactly the same as when we last checked on him, while Mat Cuthbertson, Andrea Dato and Ben Jackson have also lost some ground.

Phil Laak crippled
Phil Laak crippled

Two players, including Scott Standridge, checked to Phil Laak on a board of {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, and he moved all in for 25,000 into a pot of around 6,000. The first player folded, then Standridge tank-called all-in for 21,675.

Laak rolled over {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for an open-ended straight draw, and Standridge was ahead with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a pair of aces. The {8-Spades} on the river gave Laak a meaningless pair of eights, and he was reduced to 4,700 chips.

Standridge doubled through to 50,000 chips.

Kanit's Aces Cracked

Nivel 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Facing a limp on the button and a completion in the small blind, Mustapha Kanit raised to 1,100 from the big blind. Only the button made the call, and on the {4-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop, Kanit continued for 1,300.

The button smooth-called as the {K-Clubs} landed on the turn and Kanit fired out 3,700. The button again made the call as the {8-Clubs} completed the board on the river.

Kanit bet out 12,000 and his opponent called all in for 9,200. Kanit tabled his {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}, but it would be his opponent's {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} that would scoop the pot and cripple Kanit to 3,150.

Monnette Fills Up Against Broderick

Nivel 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Jon Broderick recently moved his big stack over to the purple section and got right into the mix, tangling with John Monnette on the following hand.

On the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop, Broderick and Cory Zeidman checked to Monnette. He bet 650, and only Broderick called to see the {10-Hearts} land on the turn. Both players checked, and the river was the {6-Clubs}. Broderick checked, Monnette bet 1,425, and Broderick called.

Monnette showed the {J-Spades}{6-Spades} for a full house, sixes over eights, and Broderick mucked his hand.

Schemion Aggression

Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Ole Schemion may not yet be a familiar name in the United States but we’re willing to bet that the player to his right wishes he had never set eyes on him. It folded to that player in the small blind who raised Schemion’s big blind. Perhaps that wasn’t the best idea as Schemion raised him to 2,500, glared at him through his sunglasses, and his opponent laid it down.

They faced off again on the next hand where they got to a flop of {4-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. This time Schemion check-raised him to 2,500 and again his opponent surrendered the pot.

Esfandiari Drops a Few

Nivel 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Jessica Dawley raised to 800 in early position, Antonio Esfandiari called out of the small blind, and a player defended their big blind.

The dealer fanned {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, and Esfandiari led out for 1,075. Only the player in the big blind called.

The turn was the {a-Spades}, Esfandiari check-called a bet of 2,000, and the river was the {7-Hearts}. Esfandiari checked, the player bet another 3,600, and Esfandiari folded.
