Four players committed 450 preflop; one of which was "All American" Dave Swanson. The dealer spread a {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop and the original raiser continued for 1,550 with only Swanson making the call.

The turn landed the {8-Hearts} and Swanson led for 3,500 with his opponent making the call. The river landed the {9-Spades} and Swanson immediately announced all in to put his opponent at risk for his last 7,625.

After about two minutes deliberating, Swanson's opponent folded and tabled his {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}, as Swanson raked in the pot and climbed to 42,150.

Making Money

Nivel 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Chris Moneymaker opened for 400 and got three callers to a flop of {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, continuation bet for just 200 and narrowed his opponents down to two.

The turn card was the {6-Hearts} and Moneymaker announced, “One yellow chip.” betting 1,000. This time he got one caller. The river was the {2-Hearts} and it was checked to Moneymaker who bet 1,700. His opponent folded his hand.

“No diamonds huh?” Moneymaker said.

“Diamond, five or ten.” his opponent replied.

“Eight-nine of diamonds eh?” Moneymaker deduced stacking his chips.

Langrock Knocks One Out

Nivel 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

We just caught the end of a big hand in which Sebastian Langrock knocked out a player. After the hand finished Langrock was kind enough to explain what happened.

Langrock's opponent raised and the German called in position. The flop brought out {J-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} and the continuation bet was 800, which was raised to 2,400 by Langrock. The initial raiser called and on the turn the {5-Spades} popped up.

The action was checked to Langrock who bet 4,400. The initial raiser check-raised all in for 13,000 and Langrock snap-called.

Langrock: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The river brought the {A-Diamonds} and Langrock knocked a player out. On the very next hand Langrock raised to 525 and Don Nguyen called in position. The flop brought out {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Langrock bet 675, Nguyen called and the turn was the {J-Diamonds}, on which Langrock bet another 1,125. Nguyen called and the river was the {A-Diamonds}.

This time Langrock checked and Nguyen bet 2,225. Langrock called immediately and Nguyen mucked right away. Langrock's {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs} was tabled and he took down another pot.

Ciao, Linton

Nivel 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Antonio Venneri limped in from under the gun, Pete Linton raised to 900 on the button, and Garrett Greer called in the small blind. Venneri put in a reraise, making it 2,500 to go, and Linton moved all in for 14,000.

Greer quickly folded, and the Italian called the 70-big blind shove.

Venneri: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Linton: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Venneri's pair held as the board ran out {4-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}, and Linton hit the rail less than three hours into Day 1a of the WSOP Main Event.

Sapiano is Slipping

Nivel 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Albert Sapiano is down to 6,800 chips after a difficult start here in the Main Event. Although his 6,800 is much less than the 30,000 he started with, the amazing structure of this tournament means Sapiano still has 34 big blinds at his disposal.

On a board of {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and the pot sitting at roughly 5,000, Layne Flack was faced with a 2,100-chip bet.

Merson Raises Perkins

Nivel 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Eric Worre limped in from early position, and then Greg Merson raised to 675 from the next seat. Action folded to Bill Perkins in the big blind, and he reraised to 1,800. After Worre folded, Merson called.

The flop was {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, and both Perkins and Merson checked to see the {Q-Diamonds} fall on the turn. After Perkins led with a bet of 2,200, Merson raised to 5,700. Perkins had a little over 17,000 behind and went into the tank. Merson, who had a little under 11,000 behind, waited patiently while riffling chips with both hands.

Eventually, Perkins folded, and Merson pulled in the pot.
