All of the Aces

Nivel 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jesse Chinni and two opponents took a flop of {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Spades}, and Chinni tossed out a bet of 1,700. Only one player, the player on his left, called.

The turn was the {a-Hearts}, both players checked, and the {q-Clubs} completed the board. Chinni checked, the player casually tossed out an orange T5,000 chip. A smile crept across Chinni's face, and he eventually mucked.

The player on his left showed him his two cards then went to muck.

"Wait," someone called from across the table. "What did he have?"

"All of the aces," the player said casually, tabling {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} face up.

Buchman Pushes Harman

Nivel 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

It was folded to Jennifer Harman on the button and she opened to 900. Eric Buchman in the small blind made it 3,200 to go. The big blind folded and Harman made the call.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Buchman led out for 3,700. Harman called.

The river was the {J-Spades} and Buchman bet 6,000, which was about half of what Harman had left in her stack. She thought it through for a moment and let her hand go. Buchman moved up to 48,000 after the hand and the table commenced to break.

Engel Ousted; Harman Takes a Seat

Nivel 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Ari Engel's time at the feature table ended with a bustout.
Ari Engel's time at the feature table ended with a bustout.

According to a former tablemate, Ari Engel got it all in with the nut flush draw but was against a set of deuces. His opponent turned a boat to leave Engel dead.

At another table, Jen Harman took a seat with a relatively short stack.

Not Lew-sing

Nivel 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

On a {4-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} board, Randy Lew's opponent tapped the table. The online legend known as "nanonoko" checked it back and the {5-Diamonds} finished off the board. Lew's opponent fired out a bet of 2,100 only to have Lew come over the top for 7,000. Lew's opponent let it go and Lew was pushed the pot.

Lew now has right around 41,500 in chips.

Dwan Ships

Nivel 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

On a flop of {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-}, Tom Dwan was all in for about 11,000 and his opponent was in the tank.

"I can't bring myself to do it," the player said, mucking {8-Clubs} face up. "It's Tom Dwan, what am I supposed to do?"

Drink and Be Merry, and Lucky

Nivel 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Several players are enjoying a beer as the tournament moves into the last hour of a long day for the survivors. One player in Brasilia seems to have started enjoying himself a little earlier that most and is a little worse for wear. Every now and then he can be heard to shout, “You've gotta have heart.” as he wins another pot.

We witnessed a recent hand where he called a raise and four players called to see a king high flop and he bet out, pointing to each player as they folded in turn and the pot was pushed to him.

On the next hand he asked how much the big blind was and on hearing it was 400 he announced a bet of 1,400. The player to his left went all in for 12,000 and when it got back to him he called with {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} and was against {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. The cards ran out {2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and on seeing the river card he gave out another whoop of, “You’ve gotta have heart.”

As the busted player walked past he got his wallet out and tried to offer him $200 but was refused.

He would only tell PokerNews that his name was Bartlett (He’s wearing a Bartlett Construction T-Shirt) and with his chips stacked in a haphazard jumble we could only guess how much he has.

Hansen's in Great Shape

Nivel 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Gus Hansen, who entered this tournament very last minute, has been on quite a tear during his short Day 1 playing time.

Hansen just called a raise in the big blind from the player in the small, after which the flop brought out {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. Both players checked and Hanse picked up the pot on the turn after betting 1,125.

Hansen's now sitting at Andreas Hoivold's table and these two top European pros are likely to apply tons of pressure on their opponents with about 50 minutes left in the day.
