Waxman's Got a Stack

Nivel 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Matt Waxman
Matt Waxman

On a board showing {K-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{K-Hearts}, with quite a lot of chips already in the pot, it was Matt Waxman who moved all in.

The dealer tossed the all-in button towards Waxman, signalling his move, and John Hennigan, his lone opponent on the button, called rather quickly.

"Full house," Waxman announced as he turned over {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Hennigan shook his head as he mucked his cards.

When the dealer started counting out Waxman's stack, for a total of 76,400, Hennigan said, "I thought he bet 50k?"

"No, he moved all in," the dealer said and Hennigan shook his head once more, as he had to pay an extra 26,400 on top of the chips that Waxman had slid forward.

Waxman now sits on a very comfortable stack while Hennigan's lost a lot this level.

Pierce Releases on River

Nivel 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Paul Pierce
Paul Pierce

The action folded round to a very relaxed Paul Pierce in the cutoff who currently was having his calf muscles worked on by a masseuse. The 10-time NBA All-Star splashed the pot with three yellow 1,000-denomination chips to signify a call before Christopher Smith raised it up to 6,500 from the button. Raymond Ezzie called from the big blind and Smith made the call to see the dealer spread a {4-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop.

Both Ezzie and Pierce checked to Smith who bet out 9,500 to force a quick fold from Ezzie before Pierce reached for his orange 5,000-denomination chips and quickly tossed in five of them to raise it up to 25,000. Smith hesitated for a little before making the call as the turn landed the {2-Hearts}. Pierce checked, as did Smith, before the dealer delivered the {7-Hearts} on the river.

Pierce reached for a stack of chips and slowly cut them out back-and-forth before returning them to his stack and tapping his arm to indicate a check. Smith reached down into his stack before cutting out a bet of 40,000.

Sitting up slightly from his turned-around chair, Pierce picked up his cards and bounced them into the muck while shaking his head angrily from left to right while slipping to 141,000 in chips.

Morris Checks Back Underfull

Nivel 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Jonathan Aguiar bet 8,000 on a flop of {a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, and Arthur Morris called from the button. The {6-Hearts} led to Aguiar checking, and he called 15,800 from Morris. Aguiar checked again on the {a-Clubs} river.

"I have a six," Morris said.

Aguiar tossed {a-Spades}{q-Spades} into the middle for a higher boat.

Morris shook his head, turning over the {6-Spades} before mucking.

Kaverman Tanks and Calls

Nivel 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

We found Byron Kaverman checking a final board of {7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} in middle position. His opponent, on Kaverman's left, bet 25,000, and Kaverman tanked for about three minutes, looking at his opponent a few times. Finally, he tossed in a call and was shown {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for a flush.

Pierce Sits, Three-Bets

Nivel 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Paul Pierce
Paul Pierce

Paul Pierce was just moved to the Purple Section of the Amazon Room, and on one of his first hands he was faced with a raise of 5,100 from Scott Baumstein in middle position. Pierce reached into his stack, flicking out a reraise to 21,000, and the action was back on Baumstein.

The American pro mulled the decision over for a minute or so before tossing his cards into the muck, and the pot was pushed to the 10-time NBA All-Star.

Charlie Combes Over Clark

Nivel 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Chuck Clark
Chuck Clark

Chuck Clark got his last 30,000 or so all in preflop and found himself in a race situation against fellow Brit Charlie Combes.

Clark: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Combes: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Clark had the best of it, but he needed to dodge overs and diamonds to keep his tournament hopes alive. That proved easier said than done though as the {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{a-Clubs} flop delivered Combes a pair of aces. Clark did flop a flush draw, but it didn't come as the {J-Spades} blanked on the turn followed by the {A-Spades} on the river.

Obst Back in it

Nivel 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

James Obst started the day with 105,000 chips but an early bluff knocked him down to around 40,000.

Just now it was Obst who ended up all in before the flop and he was up against his right neighbor, Ola Amundsgard.

Obst: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Amundsgard: {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The board ran out {J-Spades}{A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and Obst raked in a much needed double up. There are plenty of chips at this table as the two players to Obst's right, Amundsgard and Munir Shahin, are among the biggest stacks in the room.
