Jiganti Eliminated

Nivel 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Zach Jiganti - Eliminated
Zach Jiganti - Eliminated

Zach Jiganti, who has sat toward the top of the chip counts for the past two days, has been eliminated from play after two unfortunate hands.

In his final hand, Donys Angelli opened with a raise to 35,000 from under the gun. Jiganti three-bet shipped from the hijack for his last 318,000 and Clayton Maguire flatted from the button. The blinds folded and Angelli tank-folded his hand.

Jiganti: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Maguire: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

Jiganti found that he was dominated by Maguire's queens and suddenly he was in need of improvement to stay alive. The board fell down {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, ensuring that Maguire's ladies would hold. Jiganti was eliminated from play and Maguire's stack increased to about 1.89 million.

Politano Doubles Into Chip Lead; Cripples Jiganti

Nivel 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Bruno Politano Takes Chip Lead
Bruno Politano Takes Chip Lead

In a four-bet pot, Bruno Politano and Zach Jiganti took a flop of {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{9-Hearts}. Politano came out swinging on the flop with a bet of 279,000. Jiganti was on the button and came over the top with a raise to 657,000.

Politano went into the tank for roughly four minutes before moving out a three-bet to 1.2 million. After just 15 seconds back on Jiganti he announced an all-in four-bet and Politano quickly called for his tournament life of 2.185 million.

Politano: {K-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Jiganti: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Both players had flopped a set with Politano's coming out on top. Suddenly Jiganti was hoping to drill the fourth nine in order to score the elimination and save his stack from destruction.

The turn was the {5-Clubs} which was no help to either player. Politano's set of kings retained the lead and cliched him the key double up after the {8-Diamonds} hit the river. Politano dragged in the massive pot and now holds the chip lead with about 4.96 million. Jiganti, on the other hand, has dropped to just 340,000.

"Somebody Scream For Me"

Nivel 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Matthew Mcewan raised to 35,000 from middle position, Griffin Benger reraised to 82,000 on his direct left, and Bob Miller moved all in for 267,000 on the button. Mcewan quickly folded, and Benger tossed in a call.

Miller: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Benger: {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Miller improved to a pair of aces on the {2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{a-Spades} flop, but the {10-Clubs} on the turn gave Benger a gut-shot straight draw.

"Johnny," Benger said, calling for a jack.

The river was paint, but the {q-Spades} was no help and Miller doubled.

"Somebody scream for me," Miller said towards the rail.

"You can do it," someone at the table told him.

"No," Miller responded. "I can't get that high-pitched."

Kyle Ho Falls to Zaichenko

Nivel 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

As recapped to us, Andrey Zaichenko opened from middle position and Kyle Ho three-bet shove for about 470,000 from late position. Zaichenko called with {K-}{K-}, well ahead of Ho's {J-}{J-}.

A {K-} fell on the flop, a {J-} landed on the turn and the river was produced no miracle for Ho, giving Zaichenko the pot.

Arage Doubles Through Costello

Nivel 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Mark Costello opened for 27,000 from middle position and was met by an all-in three-bet to 318,000 from Michael Arage on the button. The blinds both folded and Costello made the call.

Costello: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Arage: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Both players held legitimate pocket pairs, but Arage's was best. The board ran out a clean {4-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Arage doubled through Costello, who was left with a short stack.

Curtis Rystadt opened to 37,000 from the cutoff and Paul responded with a three-bet to 95,000 from the cutoff. In the big blind, the very active Timur Margolin four-bet to 218,000, forcing a fold from Rystadt. But Paul fired back with a five-bet all in for 1,046,000, and Margolin quickly folded.
