Welcome to the 2015 World Series of Poker!

Today's noon event is a straight $1,500 no-limit hold'em tournament. The WSOP lists last year's champion as Ted Gillis, and he topped a field of 2,086 entries to earn the $514,027 top prize. Gillis defeated John Hennigan in heads-up play to earn the title.

With not much else going on at the WSOP for the no-limit hold'em heads today, this event should draw a sizable crowd of 1,500-2,000 players and have around $400,000-$500,000 up top to the winner. Things will kick off at 12 p.m. local time, and players begin with 7,500 in tournament chips.
