In a recent episode of the Poker in the Ears podcast, Belgian poker pro and PokerStars Ambassador Kenny Hallaert joined James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton for a chat about his new and innovative role for the Spadie brand.
Hallaert highlighted some of the key issues he's eager to address in his new role, where he looks to make live poker a safer ground for new and recreational poker players
The players are currently on a 30-minute break, with 730 entries logged and 530 players still in the game. When play resumes, they will tackle two more levels before taking another short break. After that, two additional levels will be played, followed by a 75-minute dinner break. Once the players return from dinner, late registration will officially close.
Additionally, the Day 1d flight is set to kick off at 7 p.m. local time.
Marcus Hallabro opened to 1,400 from the button and was called by Gianluca Bernardini from the small blind. Alessandro Adinolfo made it 5,600 from the big blind, putting the action on Hallabro. The latter then four-bet to 14,000, folding out Bernardini. Adinolfo quickly moved all in and Hallbaro called off his stack of 52,200 and was the player at risk.
Marcus Hallabro: A♣K♦
Alessandro Adfinolfo: J♥9♦
Hallabro paired up on the K♠7♥6♥ to strengthen his grip on the hand, which was sealed after the A♦ turn. The 3♠ completed the board and Hallabro moved over the 100,000 mark.
The following hand, Stefan Olofsson limped in from early position. Adinolfo put in his last 3,300 from the small blind and saw Peter Kaspar call from the big blind. Olofsson then jammed for 29,1000 and folded out Kaspar.
Alessandro Adfinolfo: A♣J♥
Stefan Olofsson: K♠K♣
Olofsson's pocket pair held out following the Q♣10♥7♣4♦2♥ runout to end Adinolfo's day prematurely.

Pierre Basile opened to 1,200 from middle position before Nabil Sabahi three-bet to 5,300 from the cutoff. Alf-Inge Olsen cold-called from the small blind. The big blind got out of the way to put the action back on Basile, who moved all in as the bigger stack. Sabahi called off his stack of around 22,000 and Olsen made it a three-way encounter after he called off for his tournament life, having around 17,000 total.
Alf-Inge Olsen: K♥5♥
Nabil Sabahi: K♦J♣
Pierre Basile: J♥J♠
Basile was surprised at his opponents hole cards and he shot up the chip leaderboard after remaining best on the A♠8♣6♦A♣10♣ runout.

After an early position open and a call, Ashot Mirzoyan three-bet to 2,800 in the cutoff. Hans Rasmussen then cold four-bet out of the big blind toe 6,200. Only Mirzoyan called.
On the 9♣7♠2♦ flop, Rasmussen fired out a bet of 5,500. Mirzoyan only had around 23,000 left in his stack and after some deliberation, he tossed his cards into the muck.

The action was caught on the turn with the board reading 4♠6♣5♠J♥. Vardan Zakaryan checked and Guillermo Sanz bet 5,100 from middle position. Petros Dektylidis called in position, but Zakaryan folded.
When the 8♦ hit the river, Sanz put out a bet of 7,100, leaving himself with roughly 8,000 behind. Dektylidis instantly shoved for the rest of Sanz's chips. Sanz asked his opponent, "Do you have a seven?" Dektylidis just shrugged. Sanz didn't take long after that to fold his hand and forfeit the pot to Dektylidis.

Placido Vittorio raised to 1,200 from the cutoff. Benjamin Spragg called on the button and Simone Demasi defended out of the big blind.
The action checked through on the K♥Q♥9♣ flop for the 2♣ to come on the turn. After Demasi checked, Vittorio bet 2,000 which only Spragg called.
Both players checked the 6♥ river and Spragg took down the pot with QxJx for a pair of queens.

Angelo Marrone opened to 1,000 from under the gun and Paolo Santagati called from one seat over. Gaston Gurevich three-bet to 4,200 from middle position before Betanzos Guerrero made it 17,000 from the hijack. The action folded back the Gurevich, who moved all in for 25,700. Guerrero quickly called and the cards went on their backs.
Gaston Gurevich: K♥K♦
Betanzos Guerrero: A♥A♣
Gurevich was in rough shape and found no help on the 10♠9♦4♠ flop, however, the J♦ turn gave him a gutshot straight draw. The 6♠ river confirmed his exit instead and Guerrero collected the pot.
