The 2023 EPT Barcelona Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event champion has just joined the field. Lucien Cohen from France triumphed in the largest EPT event ever, outlasting an incredible 7,398 players to claim the first-place prize of €676,230. He currently sits with just under the starting stack and will undoubtedly be looking to replicate that success in this year's event.

Rusen Mat had raised to 1,600 preflop and was called by three players, including Antonio Ponce on the button.
When it checked to Mat on the 7♦4♣6♥ flop, he bet 2,000. There was one fold before Ponce shoved for roughly 12,000. After the big blind folded Mat put in the call.

Ponce was ahead with his pair of sevens and stayed in front on the K♦ turn. The 5♠ fell on the river and Ponce had doubled up back to the original 30,000 starting stack.

With the flop showing 4♠K♦3♠, Guilherme Dos Santos had bet and then called the 16,000 shove of Claude Delbourg.

Dos Santos was ahead with top pair, but had to fade the flush if he was to eliminate Delbourg. The turn came the 9♦, but the river was the 7♠, giving Delbourg the winner with a flush.
Dos Santos was eliminated a few hands later.

Yunkyu Song opened to 1,600 from under the gun and was promptly three-bet by Boris Angelov next to act. The action folded back to Song who announced a four-bet to 14,500. Angelov took some time before he announced all-in for 34,100. Song, who covered slightly, was in immediate discomfort as he bemoaned, "So sick!"
Song stood up from his chair and put on his jacket, his patented move, and slid a stack of chips forward as the cards hit their backs.

It was a standard cooler with Angelov having the best of it, and it stayed that way as the board ran out J♣4♣3♦9♦K♥. Angelov aces held as Song was left on fumes and was eliminated the following hand.
