Fabio Angry at the Cards Not the Player

Fabio Coppola
Fabio Coppola

Fabio Coppola was playing a hand against a player in early position on a board of {J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. The player in early position put out a fairly large bet, Coppola sensing something reraised the player all in for about 5,000 in chips.

The player immediately called and cards were turned. Coppola held {Q-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} for top pair kings with a queen high flush draw. His opponent had {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for a nut flush draw. Coppola was visible anxious as he demanded red cards.

A {8-Hearts} turn brought Coppol0a's opponent a couple more outs. A {6-Diamonds} river gave the early position player a nut flush and the winning hand.

Coppola was extremely upset and started banging on the table demanding some justice. Coppola continued to go on about how he knew his opponent had a draw, and question why he would make such a play with such a weak hand. The words he used were a bit graphic and the table was clearly uncomfortable with the mini tantrum. In the end Coppola apologized and told the players he was simply mad at the cards not the player.

Another for Buffer

Nivel 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

On a {k-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{q-Spades} board with about 3,000 in the pot already, Bruce Buffer fired 1,600 into his lone opponent. After thinking for a bit, the player threw in the call almost reluctantly and Buffer showed {a-Spades}{10-Spades}. The other player opened his hand of {6-Spades}{7-Spades} for a worse flush and Buffer was shipped the pot.

He now has 26,000.

Katz Sees Something He Likes

We found Michael Katz dictating the action at his table when he raised from early position. The big blind was the only one confident enough to see a flop and called the raise of 350.

On a {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} board both players checked and it was off to the {9-Spades} on the turn. Here is where the big blind put out a 450 bet that was eventually called by Katz.

A river {4-Diamonds} did nothing for the action as both players checked. Katz flipped over {5-}{5-} for a pair of fives, which was apparently the best hand, because his opponent mucked his cards.

Buffer - ing

Nivel 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

A player from under the gun min-raised to 300. The player to his immediate left called as did Bruce Buffer in late position. The big blind came along as well and the {k-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop was seen by four players.

The first three opponents checked to Buffer who fired a near pot sized bet of 1,200. The player in the big blind folded and the preflop raiser thought for about a minute and decided to make it 3,800. Buffer called after the other opponent got out of the way.

The the turn was the {5-Hearts} and the player first to act moved all in for his final 4,400. Buffer hit the tank and began to think out loud. "I feel like you have a set of Eights here." After a couple of minutes he threw in the chips half expecting to be beat. His opponent showed {k-Spades}{q-Spades} and Buffer flipped over {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. The river bricked and Buffer was apologetic about his delayed call. He went over and shook the mans hand. He started explaining why he took so long to call but the man understood and left the table with a smile.

With that pot, Buffer now has 23,600 chips.

Wade Out

Tristan Wade (Event #18)
Tristan Wade (Event #18)

One player limped in from middle position and then the the hijack seat limped before action folded to the player on the button. The button raised to 650 and then Tristan Wade moved all in for 4,175 from the small blind. The big blind and the two limpers folded before the preflop raiser made the call.

Wade: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Button: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The flop, turn and river ran out {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Spades}{K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and Wade went down. His opponent had him covered, which meant that Wade would have to exit to the rail.

Seif Getting Crafty

We found a limp pot at Table 98 between Mark Seif in the cut off, the button, and both the binds. After the big blind gave the approval to see a flop the dealer put out three cards the {J-Spades}{8-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. The small blind put a bet out a bet of 700 right off the bat, and Seif was the only one willing to call.

On a {5-Clubs} turn the small blind again bet, this time making it 1,300. Seif called fairly quickly and both players got to see the river.

After the {10-Spades} was spiked on the river both players checked and flipped their cards. The small blind held {A-}{10-} for a river two pair, jacks and tens. Seif however was holding {A-}{A-} for a higher two pair.
