Gates Chipping Up

Nivel 5 : 100/200, 25 ante
Garry Gates
Garry Gates

A player under the gun raised to 525 and found calls from Garry Gates in middle position and the big blind. The flop was {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} and the preflop aggressor led out for 1,250. Gates re-raised to 2,600 and the player in the blinds got out of the way. The final opponent went deep into the tank and was clearly pained by the position he was in. After a minute or two he slowly slid his cards to the dealer and Gates was awarded the pot. He now has 19,900 chips.

Waxman Forced to Give It Up

Action was checked by one player on the {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop and then Matt Waxman fired 350. His opponent check-raised to 1,200 and Waxman made the call.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and Waxman was faced with a bet of 1,700 from his opponent. He called.

The river completed the board with the {Q-Diamonds} and the player moved all in for 5,800, having Waxman's remaining 2,175 covered. Waxman tanked for a minute and then folded his hand. His opponent showed the {J-Spades}.

Shortly after this hand, Waxman was eliminated.

Kabrhel Not Invincible

In a recent hand with Martin Kabrhel we saw him raise from early position preflop and receive one caller, the small blind.

On a {5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop the small blind checked and Kabrhel bet out 475, and was called. The turn brought the {A-Diamonds} and with it a check raise from the small blind after Kabrhel bet 1,650. It was 4,000 to Kabrhel and he took his time to decide what it was he wanted to do. About four to five minutes passed before Kabhrhel eventually folded.

James Dempsey Out

We found James Dempsey facing a bet of 1,200 on a board of {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{a-Spades}, and after a minute or two of contemplation Dempsey moved all in.

His opponent sat bewildered and traded glances with Dempsey and his hole cards a handful of times before eventually making the call. Dempsey said "you got it" and his opponent flipped over {A-}{Q-} for two pair. James Dempsey mucked and was eliminated.
