Idema Passes Go, Collects $200

Nivel 15 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Daniel Idema collected $200 for showing his cards.
Daniel Idema collected $200 for showing his cards.

We found David Williams tanking against a bet of 45,000 bet from Daniel Idema on a board of {a-}{9-}{2-}{7-}. Williams ended up folding, but Jared Bleznick stopped Idema before he could muck.

"Wait!" he said. "How much to see that hand?"

Bleznick place a $100 bill in front of Idema, who upped the ante by saying it would cost $300. Bleznick offered him $200, pointing at Williams and telling him to give Idema the second $100.

"I'll match the hundred," Williams said.

Idema flipped over {a-}{9-}{k-}{x-} for aces and nines, and Williams said he folded aces and sevens. Bleznick shouted an expletive and stalked away, saying he folded a set of twos.

Idema just smiled and tucked the bills behind his chips.

Laak Saving Some For a Rainy Day

Nivel 15 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Phil Laak
Phil Laak

Phil Laak limped in pre-flop and called a raise from Marko Neumann and the two would see a flop of {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Laak checked and Neumann put out a bet of 26,000. Laak thought for a moment and then tossed a T5,000 chip to his neighbor, asking him to break it down to five T1,000 chips. He then carefully put together a bet of 139,000, leaving himself 1,500 behind and pushed forward the majority of his stack.

Neumann thought for a few moments and let his hand go and Laak took down the pot and moved to 225,000 in the process.

Studdard Gets Unexpected Double

Nivel 15 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

We found Darius Studdard all in preflop against Michael Kamran.

Kamran: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Studdard: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

Studdard was behind, but the {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop gave him a gutshot, and the {5-Hearts} turn got him there.

"No!" Kamran exclaimed.

"Didn't expect that," Studdard said as the {9-Hearts} river sealed his double. "I did not expect that."

Sergey Rybachenko
Sergey Rybachenko

We get to the table with the board showing {J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} after Sergey Rybachenko has called a flop bet. Rybachenko led out for 37,500 after the turn was placed and he was called by his lone opponent.

On the {A-Hearts} river, Rybachenko moved all in for his last 83,500 prompting his opponent to look at the dealer and ask "how much is it?" The dealer counted it down for him and he went into the tank for nearly three minutes before announcing a call.

"Straight," said Rybachenko, turning {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for a seven high straight. His opponent counted out the chips and set them in the middle for the dealer to push over to Rybachenko who was up to 325,000 after dragging the pot.

Matt Marafioti limped from middle position, and Tom Marchese made it 12,000. Marafioti called after the blinds folded, and the flop came {5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. Marafioti checked, and Marchese made a small bet of 10,000. Marafioti thought for about a minute before raising to 57,500.

"All in," Marchese said softly, grabbing a tower of pink T5,000 chips.

"All in?" Marafioti asked excitedly. "Did he say all in? Call."

Marafioti showed the nuts: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Marchese had also flopped trips with {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. Marafioti faded the higher boat as the turn brought a {4-Hearts} and the river a {9-Spades}.

Kornuth's Queens Fall to Aces

Nivel 15 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

We didn't catch the hand but Chance Kornuth was shipping a good chunk of his stack over to an opponent when his {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} was no match for {A-}{A-}{9-}{9-} of a {K-}{8-}{5-}{5-}{X-} board. Kornuth was down to 220,000 after losing the hand.
