Aoki's Pursuit of Happiness

Nivel 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Mikiyo Aoki
Mikiyo Aoki

Mikiyo Aoki just won another big pot and bumped her stack up to 2.56 million, which means she's now in the Top 10 with 174 players remaining.

We caught the action on the turn when the board read {3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}, as Eddy Sabat put in 225,000 to call Aoki's raise.

Aoki was seated on the button and on the river, the {10-Hearts}, Sabat checked to his opponent. Aoki quickly bet 275,000 and Sabat tanked for a couple of minutes.

"I need to call the clock on myself," Sabat finally said, leaving the dealer very confused.

"What?" the dealer said.

"Yes, I want the clock on myself," Sabat repeated himself and the dealer called a member of the floor staff over.

"This player wants to call the clock on himself," the dealer said.

"You can't call the clock on yourself," the member of the floor staff said.

"Clock," Scott Palmer immediately said, helping Sabat's cause.

The clock was winding down on Sabat and within 10 seconds he made the call.

Aoki turned over {J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and she raked in the pot with a flush, as Sabat shook his head knowing he was left with a small stack.

Nichols Eliminated by Waxman

Nivel 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Matthew Waxman
Matthew Waxman

Action folded around to Grayson Nichols in the small blind and he shipped all in for about 240,000. Matt Waxman called from the big blind and the cards were turned over.

Nichols: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Waxman: {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The two were racing for Nichols' tournament life heading to the flop. The dealer produced a {4-Hearts}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop, pairing Waxman's jack and giving him the lead in the hand. Nichols found no solace on the turn ({9-Hearts}) or the river ({3-Spades}) and he was eliminated from play. Waxman pulled in the pot and now has 2.4 million in chips.

Kaverman's Eight-Minute Tank

Nivel 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

After Maximilian Senft raised from early position, Byron Kaverman three-bet to 95,000 from the button. Senft responded by four-betting to 180,000, Kaverman called, and the flop came down {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. Kaverman, who finished 34th in this event last year for $229,281, called a bet of 125,000 and then both players checked the {6-Diamonds} turn.

When the {J-Spades} completed the board on the river, Senft shoved all in for 434,000 and Kaverman hit the tank hard. Eight minutes passed by before he released his hand, and Senft slid his cards to the dealer unseen.

Loeser Loses a Chunk

Nivel 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Manig Loeser opened for 40,000 in early position, and Luis Assuncao shoved from his left. Everyone folded back to Loeser, who called upon being told the total was 359,000.

Loeser: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Assuncao: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Assuncao had Loeser crushed, and his equity came through as the board ran out {5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

Tran Toppled

Nivel 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
David Tran
David Tran

David Tran was recently moved to one of the outer feature tables, but unfortunately for him, it didn't turn out too well.

Tran found himself all in holding {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} against Matthew Haugen's {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}.

The final board read {7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Tran hit the rail as Haugen climbed to 3 million in chips.

Devonshire and Roberts Chop

Nivel 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

From middle position, Dan Sindelar raised to 40,000. Daryl Roberts reraised from the cutoff seat to 115,000, and then play moved to Bryan Devonshire in the big blind. He reraised and made it 245,000 to go. After Sindelar folded, Roberts tanked before moving all in for 680,000. Devonshire called.

Devonshire showed the {A-Spades}{K-Spades}, and Roberts had the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}.

The flop came down {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}, and both players still had a backdoor flush draw in the hand to possible crack the other's holding. The turn was the {K-Diamonds}, though, which meant Devonshire and Roberts would chop this one up. The river completed the board with the {6-Diamonds}.

Finstein's Straight Gets Flushed

Nivel 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Michael Finstein
Michael Finstein

Michael Finstein led out for 175,000 into a pot of around 275,000 on a board of {5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, and Vadzim Markushevski tank-called.

The {8-Hearts} completed the board, Finstein fired out one final bullet worth 400,000, and Markushevski made a quick call. Finstein showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a rivered straight, but it was no good against Markushevski's {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a flush.
