The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague here at Hilton Prague kicked off today with the €1,100 Eureka Main Event. Day 1a, the first of the six starting flights, got underway this afternoon with its turbo counterpart, Day 1b, set to kick off at 7 p.m.
To surpass last year’s mammoth field of 4,403 entrants was Alexander Tkatschew, who emerged victorious after defeating Remigiusz Wyrzykiewicz heads-up. Tkatschewn claimed the lion's share of the €4,226,880 prize pool, taking home €511,710 for the first-place prize.

Each player will receive a starting stack of 30,000 with the blinds commencing at 100/100 with a 100 big-blind ante. The levels will be 30 minutes long with players allowed to reenter twice per flight. A break of 15 minutes will be held after every four levels. Late registration will close at the end of Level 10 and play will end for the day once the field is reduced to 15% of the total entries. All players who survive into Day 2 are guaranteed to make the money (the prize pool will be announced at the start of Day 2).

Maksim Haitsiukevich rasied to 300 from under the gun, Gerald Eisele called in the cutoff and Alexantr Spatharis, in the small blind, three-bet to 1,200. Both players called.
The 9♠A♥10♠ flop saw the action check to Eisele, who took the lead for 3,000, earning two quick folds. As Eisele raked in the pot, he flashed the A♠ to the table for at least top pair. Spatharis claimed to have folded queens.

Ron Jeda raised to 300 under the gun before Andrii Khatsevych three-bet to 1,200 on the button. After the blinds folded, Jeda called.
The dealer fanned out a flop of 8♦2♦10♠ and Jeda check-folded to a bet of 1,500 from Khatsevych.

Taras Mokliak opened for 200 from the cutoff, and Lucas Tae three-bet to 800 from the button. Prateek Mittal called from the big blind, while Taras folded.
Mittal checked the Q♠2♠2♥ flop and folded to Tae's continuation bet of 1,200, awarding the pot to Tae.

Apostolos Chantzis limped in from under the gun, Cagdas Okay raised to 200 from middle position, and Andrii Khatsevych three-bet to 800, from the hijack. The cutoff, button, and both the blinds all cold-called. Chantzis and Okay both made the call too.
The action checked to Yehor Shumeiko, in the cutoff, who took the lead for 700 on the 2♥Q♦8♣ flop. Only Petr Hruska, in the small blind, Chantzis, and Khatsevych called.
The 2♠ turn and the 5♠ river checked to a showdown. Shumeiko rolled over A♥10♥ for ace-high. Hruska tabled 9♥9♦ for the winner, claiming this family pot.
