Martin Kabrhel Leads; Benjamin Spragg in the Hunt Entering Day 3 of Eureka Main Event

Another action-packed day of the PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague is upon us as the finish line of the €1,100 Eureka Main Event is now within sight. Just 137 players of the original 4,732 entrants remain and will return to the Hilton Prague looking to chase poker glory. In addition to the title, they will all be gunning for the €517,730 first-place prize, which represents the lion's share of the €4,542,720 prize pool.

Leading the pack is Martin Kabrhel, who rose to the top of the leaderboard about half way through Day 2 got a nice boost to his stack on one of the last hands of the evening after busting Adam Wagner. Kabrhel, whose polarizing antics have made him a controversial figure in the poker world, recently won his third WSOP bracelet and will be looking to cap off a stellar year with another tournament win.

Also in the hunt are PokerStars ambassadors Simon Wiciak (280,000) and Benjamin Spragg (1,965,000). Spragg caught Joern Madsen bluffing to earn a large pot during Day 2 and is poised to make a deep run with nearly double the amount of an average stack.

Levels will continue to last 60 minutes each, and 20-minute breaks will be held after every two levels. The length of Day 3 will be determined by tournament staff as play progresses.

The remaining 137 players have already locked up a cash worth €5,500, with increasingly frequent pay jumps looming.

Paul Hoefer shoved for his last 290,000 from middle position and action checked to Dmitrijs Petrenko on the button, who tanked a bit before announcing he was all in for more. Everyone else folded and a showdown was held.

Kabrhel Continues to Build

Nivel 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

Martin Kabrhel has started the day in typically loquacious form, mixing in a few stretches to warm up with asking for a table change because "there are better players and dealers over there", and suggesting that the table should start straddling, asking each individual tablemate if they were up for it. None seemed too keen.

Action folded to Kabrhel on the button, who opened to 60,000. Adrian Ibanescu was in the big blind, and he pondered the spot for a moment. While he was thinking, Kabrhel asked from where Ibanescu hailed. On being informed the answer was Romania, Kabrhel asked "Bucharest?" I like Bucharest a lot". Ibanescu called.

The flop came Q53, and Ibanescu took a bit of time before checking. Kabrhel fired out a bet of 65,000, and Ibanescu called.

The 6 hit on the turn, and Ibanescu checked once more. Kabrhel wasn't about to slow down, and slid out a bet of 150,000, leading to a relatively prompt fold from Ibanescu.

"Good fold, Romania" said Kabrhel, "You want to see?". Ibasnecu nodded and Kabrhel mucked his cards, saying "No, at the final table I'll show everything, every hand, especially to you".
