After six action-packed starting flights, a total field of 4,732 entrants has been whittled down to 707 players for Day 2 of the €1,100 Eureka Main Event at 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague. Those figures generated a €4,542,720 prize pool, a record breaking figure for the event.
The remaining players, all of whom are in the money, will return today at 11 a.m. local time, December 7, to Hilton Prague.
Jerry Odeen of Sweden leads the field, after bagging up a stack of 841,000 on Day 1e. He is closely followed by Vidar Oie of Norway (760,000) and Andreas Heissenberger of Austria (751,000).
Odeen has over $1,000,000 in live earnings and is an EPT regular, cashing in previous main events such as Barcelona, Paris and here in Prague, and he will be looking for another deep run. Oie, who boasts $96,000 in live earnings, is fresh off a very successful EPT Barcelona, cashing in four events accumulating over $20,000 in less than a week. The Norwegian will be seeking a new personal best in this event. Heissenberger will be looking to beat his career-best score of $105,191.

Plenty of other big names are also still standing, including EPT champion Robin Ylitalo (239,000), online crusher Christian Rudolph (143,000), Vanessa Kade (46,000), Martin Kabrhel (644,000), and Steve O'Dwyer (158,000).
The players will return to 21 minutes left at Level 17, with blinds at 3,000/6,000, with a 6,000 big blind ante. Levels increase to 60 minutes for the remainder of the tournament, and players will have to navigate at least eight of those to progress to Day 3.

A record breaking field of 4,732 entrants produced a €4,542,720 prize pool, with all 707 players through to Day 2 receiving a minimum cash at worst.
The tournament director has just confirmed the numbers, with a minimum cash worth €1,770, a spot at the final table earning €48,430 and the winner taking home the staggering sum of €517.730.

Tomas Osobo raised in middle position to 12,000 but was met by a quick shove for 37,000 from Cristian Bumbu on the button. Action is now back on Osobo who quickly called.

Bumbu seemed joyful as the flop came 2♣6♠A♦, the 5♠ turn no help for Osobo. However, the K♥ on the river sent Bumbu to the rail not before wishing everyone "good luck".

Kanonowicz made two pair across the J♥8♦9♦7♥9♣ runout to secure the triple up. Kanonowicz raised his arms aloft in celebration as the pot was pushed towards him.
However his celebrations were short lived as he bust a few hands later.

Mat Rusen raised in the hijack to 12,000, Kasper Mellanen in the big blind called and both players saw a flop of 4♦6♣3♣. After the flop went check-check Mellanen decided to lead on the 5♦ turn for 8,000 which was quickly called.
Mellanen slowed on the 10♣ checking to his opponent, Rusen bet 10,000 on the river and was called. Rusen tabled A♠10♦ and won the pot.
