Known as the City of a Hundred Spires, Prague offers an enchanting backdrop for a thrilling poker experience. The fusion of the city’s rich history, remarkable architecture, and vibrant culture sets the stage for an unforgettable poker festivity.
December brings a brisk winter chill to Prague, with temperatures hovering between -1 and 4 degrees Celsius (30 to 39 degrees Fahrenheit). The city becomes a magical realm of festive adornments and Christmas stalls.
Snowflakes might gently fall at times, adding to the city's enchanting views. Dressing in layers is crucial for anyone wishing to wander through the mesmerizing lanes and visit the timeless landmarks—a warm jacket, scarf, and gloves are indispensable. Even with its frosty air, Prague retains an irresistible allure during this time of year; splendid holiday illumination and a jubilant atmosphere ensure that December is an appealing month for experiencing the charm of Prague.
Action was picked up with Mario Montanelli all-in and at risk versus the covering stack of Athanasios Kostouros.
Mario Montanelli: A♠K♣
Athanasios Kostouros: 5♣5♥
The 7♣2♥7♦ gave Kostouros two pair, but the 10♥ turn and the 10♠ demoted his holding to two pair with a five kicker. Montanelli took in the crucial pot.
A pot of over 350,000 had developed in a hand between Magnus Persson in early position and Pavel Plesuv in the big blind, with the board reading 6♥5♥4♦J♦.
Plesuv jammed for 570,000 with the covering stack, and Persson went deep into the tank. The clock was called, and at the last moment Persson made the call.
Magnus Persson: 7♠7♣
Pavel Plesuv: 6♦4♥
Persson was behind, with second pair sevens and an up and down draw versus Plesuv's two pair.
However Persson binked the 3♠ river to give him a seven-high straight, and he took a monster pot.
There were roughly 400,000 chips in the pot when Christian Pedersen shoved 350,000 in early position on Q♠10♣9♣3♦6♦. Wissam Ouertani on the button was clearly in a spot and asked, "Do you really have king-jack?"
Pedersen gave nothing away. Around two minutes passed before Ouertani reluctantly folded and announced to the table "I had a set".
Action folded Victor Dota who shoved on the button for 145,000. Victor Caballero in the small blind went into the tank. Around three minutes passed before the big blind called the clock and Caballero was given 30 seconds to make his decision. Caballero had clearly been tanking in order to secure a pay jump. With only one second remaining, he called.
Victor Dota: J♥7♣
Victor Caballero: 6♣6♥
The flop of K♦3♥7♠ gave Dota the lead in this race. However, his hand was dead on the 6♦ turn, and a Q♥ hit the river. After he picked up the 320,000 pot, Caballero apologized to the table for the excessive tanking.
Action was picked up with Kamal Jbirane all-in and at risk for 211,000. Phil Gross, who once had a stack exceeding two million made the call.
Kamal Jbirane: A♠K♠
Phil Gross: 7♦7♥
Jbirane made two pair across the J♠A♥J♥Q♠3♦ runout to secure the double up. The majority of Gross's stack seems to have become one with the stack of Martin Kabrehl, who is nearing the 2,500,000 mark.
